Conker Sequel

If this is considered spam let me know

To all those who enjoyed the conker games, both the original for the N64 (well.. technically not the original, but whatever) and the Remake for XBOX... A Sequel was going to be made for Conker.

I don't know if anyone else really heard, but September 16, 2008, the Sequel that was going to happen, CONKER'S OTHER BAD FUR DAY... Was Scrapped..

What!? You mean there was going to be one, but not anymore??? WTF!?

Its true, Chris Seavor and his crack team had a sequel planned out and ready to make, storyline and all, and according to MundoRare's website, "if only you knew what other stuff he told us but we can't type here or tell anybody, anyhow any of you who were worried about a disappointing sequel would have S*** your pants."

Here's the info below

MundoRare's website info on Conker's Other Bad Fur Day

Sounds good enough to me. but wait.. its not going to happen. Microsoft won't make it..

There is a Petition going around which I've signed and so far has been going very well. Its been about a Month since I found out about it, and its generated over 200 signatures since then. It's currently around 300 or so (a little under, but it's getting quite a few signatures a day) If the info above is good enough to make you want to sign it, then Go on man! what'll it hurt??

Make Conker's Other Bad Fur Day Happen

There was also a youtube video that came out last month telling about it.

Youtube Video on the Petition etc.

This info is not really old, so there is still a great chance it can still be made!

keep your hopes up

P.S. - Spread the word

Hmm, Conker's Bad Fur Day was a riot. The X-Box remake was a disappointment.

A sequel might be nice, although I really wouldn't be surprised if it never happened.

It's really close to April 1st....lol. On a serious note, however. The game is undoubtedly hilarious and the N64 version had awesome multiplayer but in both cases the series still failed to bring in a profit for Rare. A sequel just seems....unlikely.

I know a sequel is very unlikely, but I like the game so much, you can only hope.. Technically, CBFD sold moderately well, athough very slow at first got a cult following. Live and Reloaded sold like crap. Of course Wal-Mart refused to sell C:L&R even after they censored it more. Oh, and what about april 1st? that confused the heck out of me.

I've been trying to beat this thing into the ground. My hopes got up so much when I read the thing from MundoRare's interview with Chris Seavor, I've been pretty much working with the petition owner to get the word out. I know there's people out there that want a sequel, they just didn't know there was even one that was being developed till I told them about it. VGF has tons of members, so I figured this would be one good place to tell people.

Maybe it got scrapped because of the new Banjo game that was released (which is a very very good game).

He actually started out in a sh*tty GB game.

But I want the sequel, but then again, we never get what we want.

I quite liked the two player mode on the xbox game, but I never played single.
I'd like to see a sequel, but I don't own any new systems save for the ds lite,so I prolly wouldn't be able to play it.

While on the subject of remakes,I'm still waiting for a remake of SSB on the ds.

^ Or more likely, it'll be released on VC after Brawl sales come to a snails pace, and then maybe they'll use the same engine from SSB to make a spin-off or sidegame for DS.

The Multiplayer is still played quite frequently online. Theres a few good players left, the rest are noobs who multi-shoot, throw continuous frags, hogster it up, glitch, and just plain are annoying. Quite a few games go on in the evening though.

A Conker Sequal could work....

The first game was great because of the light parodies, original control scheme, and the main character being a cute squirrel.

Of course, the Sequal would need to improve on these thi-

Wait, what is Rare doing right now?

Don't forget that they have said that if they made a remake they would kill Conker of in the first minutes.

Not really. I don't know where that info came from, but the only place I can find that info is on Wikipedia, where anyone can submit info. The only other thing that came out about killing conker was in an interview with RareExtreme (2005 interview), in which Seavor said that if he did kill conker that you'd have to escape from Hell, because getting squirrels tails was too easy last time.

This info came out September of 2008, so its the most recent interview. v

He spends all the treasury money on beer, parties and hookers. Thrown into prison, Conker is faced with the prospect of execution and the game starts with his escape, ball and chain attached, from the Castles highest tower.”
As far as what rare is doing right now, they're working on 4 new Games, but they haven't released the titles to them yet. Microsoft also it laying down the law and is getting ready for some Layoff's at rare.

well considering its been 5 days, and we started at around 291, we've generated 52 signatures. That's about 10 per day. Not bad for it just starting. - 343 signatures. if you are telling friends about it, keep up the good work, and thanks to all that have signed.

^I'd hardly call that noteworthy....a petition and one news article won't garner enough attention from Rare to make another Conker sequel. Considering the dismal sales it probably was a smart business move. You have to know as well that it takes A LOT to make a quality video game and with Rare's other current interests they don't want to spread out the team that far. Not to say I'm happy about it, but I fully understand why Rare wouldn't create this.

Also, it seems your not making a real effort to make this happen. A simple petitiononline thing (not really effective given duplicate signatures) and a news article isn't enough. You need to get yourself heard. Hire a website designer and buy a sitename such as "Saveconker.com". Create it, invest in it, make contests, make some merchandise (not stupid cafepress crap either, make your own stuff so you can make a real profit to put back into your campaign) Make some contests, host youtube conferences, go to E3 and make yourself heard. Do some real stuff. What you are doing right now won't make any change.

Heh, I didn't start the petition. I'm just doing a favor for the guy who started it by telling people about it. I'm just trying to be optimistic.

Thanks for the advice though! I already knew going into spreading the word about the petition won't do much, but I figure that if I get enough peoples attention (say, a few thousand or so) We could get a crowd fanbase to get it known that we're trying something here, then talk with the most serious people about doing all those things above. I'm just a messenger right now lol, Not the warrior for the king. That will come later. I just found out about this thing 30 days ago.

Online video game petitions have never done anything. Sorry. I mean, keep hoping and all, but don't expect this to work.

Oh, I have really low expectations for it. Sorry to say that, but When I first went into this I figured I'd tell a few people about it and get like, maybe 40 signatures, figure its not worth it, and quit. I went into it at like, 100 some odd signatures and said to myself, if this thing gets to 200 I'll be shocked. well about 2 weeks later, it got there. then 2 weeks after that almost 350. I don't expect it to really do anything, but I am surprised that 250 more signatures came along. now if like, 10 million signed it and we got real into it, I'd probably die from heart failure.
