Just...amazing...
Of course, the people who would most benefit from reading and understanding the book are the ones who refuse to or are incapable of doing so. Doesn't help that they're retards. Might as well ban the bible, since the bible deals with themes like "taking God's name in vain."

Why stop at books, anyway? Let's arrest judges for talking about people breaking laws. Don't bother trying them, though, you might be seen as a judge and arrested, too.

How ironic about Farenheit 451! That book was banned from schools on the Jett Jackson Show which was on Disney channel and the kids actually took a stand against the ban because they didn't believe it should've been censored.

I'd call for a MW2 ban, but because of the horrifically contrived story.

It's interesting the way people think that when you play video games, watch TV, etc., that you're just sitting there soaking up harmful information. They forget that people under 18 actually do have free will.

Just a thought...

I remember playing games with subtitles, but never read books, and I was pretty literate by kidnergarden. Maybe reading subtitles while characters say them helps just as much? My sisters don`t read or play games, and they`re not as literate as I was when I was their age.

Does this prove that playing games like Sonic Adventure are good for kids? I think so.

They should make a game where you like...kill people. What's an awesome setting for a game like that..... ooooh how about a high school! Then the police will come and you have to frame someone, then hide in the oddly over-sized the lockers. I WOULD SO TOTALLY BUY THAT THEN IMITATE IT BECAUSE I'M JUST THAT VULNERABLE.

at this point I wouldn't be surprised if someone blamed video games for cancer.

and MW2's story was brilliant, although they went overboard with the "kill you and all your buddies thing"

The real moment in ZG's video is when they complain how the characters in the book "burn the Bible."
...Yeah, the BAD GUYS burn the Bible! The guys who the author wants us NOT TO LIKE burn the Bible! The heroes are trying to STOP them from burning the Bible! Heaven forbid that fictional villains do anything that's actually...villainous!

All electronic devices get blamed for causing cancer at some point.

I wonder what this group of patriots thinks of military service? Do they discourage it? It would be funny if they supported it, since it entails actually shooting people and being taught how to kill effectively. The branches of the military put out ads encouraging young people to join, and they have recruiters come into the schools every so often. But, as much as military service is glorified, games that only depict violence are bad. I think it's a strange attitude to have.

* I will admit after playing Shenmue for days and days that I had the very strong urge to go out and ask if anybody knew where some sailers were. "Has anybody seen any sailers???" *

TV programs, etc, affect people in ways that they are not conscious of. No, I don't mean subliminal messages are actually alive and working. I mean media programming helps you form your perspectives of the world, even non fiction - news media, for instance controls your perspective of other people, directly. They deliver or omit what they want depending on how they believe it will affect their ratings.

That doesn't just extend to regular news. TV programs create the illusion that character archetypes exist, and your perceptions are influenced simply by the program making the suggestion that the character's behaviors are possible or inspired by real people. This is a way for assumptions to spread. What's dangerous about it isn't that it inspires murderers, but it deepens the gaps between people because it can skew our line of thought. It breeds disparity by promoting malcontent through miscommunication and uninformed beliefs, affecting how we deal with one another, and more specifically what characteristics we use to create our opinions of others.
