Ummm.. Halo 1 had online play...

Needler still sucks.

Pistol wasn't too powerful, the balance was perfect in Halo 1, took skill in aiming, you couldn't just spray with the assault and get kills. Made you go for headshots. Zoom on pistol was great, sucks without it.

Most mplayer maps suck and are made for 8 or more people, very few are fun for 2v2.

Look, Halo 1 for X-Box did not have online play, only the PC version did, and this is the X-BOX FORUM not the pc forum.

I always called needler shots "vitamins", don't know why... probably because they look like pills. Once my enemy's name was "VirusX" and I stuck him with dual needlers. Jokes ran rampant.

I play with enough people that we have AT LEAST enough for 4v4...

The pistol was way too powerful in the first. 3 shots and you're dead, with near-perfect ccuracy and a scope. Not good.

XBConnect is nowhere near as good as XBL.

Wha??!! No it wasn't your point, you clearly didn't know you could play Halo 1 online, so you jumped on someone else's opinion to try and cover up for your stupiditiy.

XBConnect: Free
XBLive: Not Free

XBC>>>>>>>XBL

XBConnect: Full of LAG, no voice, no stats, and you need to prearrange and game.

Therefore, XBL <<<<<<<<<<< XBConnect

As for the whole complaint about so-called "elites" getting owned. If it was a newbie-friendly game, then you shoudl be probably doing the same as other newbies at least. Halo 2 is a different game than Halo 1. If you're pissed off that you suck ass, then don't play it.

Also, that site seems most pissed off about the starting weapon of the SMG. Then play with the party system! Maybe if these "elites" weren't such stuck-up *******s then they'd have some friends to play with parties in.

Uhhh... that's still saying XBC is better... did you fail 3rd grade math?

Exactly, Bungie noticed that the window for an average, non elite player to become active in tournaments and competitions was becoming smaller and smaller (read: they were getting absolutely pwned), and the sucky people were losing interest. So they decided to level out of the playing field by making the pistol weaker, and all that other crap that caused masters of the game frustration.

It was a typo, finger on the wrong key.

If you don't like it then you might as well not play it. No one is forcing you to play Halo 2. If the only was you can become a master is by using an extremely overpowered weapon then are you really that good at FPSes?

oh man, the good ol' days where all you had to do was put a <, >, or = in a blank to get a question right...I miss that kinda math...

But since everybody would start with the pistol is multiplayer, how is it "unbalanced". I could see if you started with some crap-ass gun when your opponent had it, but with the same weapon at your disposal you have no reason to complain.

I don't play it. Who said I did? When did I say someone was forcing me to play it?

No, when you play with good enough people, you have to go for headshots with pistol, by the time you go for just 3 body shots, they'll have seen you and you'll be dead.

Halo1 is to Counterstrike as Halo2 is to Day of Defeat.

It's not the best game ever, but it's not a bad way to spend my afternoon time. I got a friend with a huge basement and two TVs, and he can bring down another if he has to, so it's it's easy to have 4v4 or 4v4v4 or the like, which is great fun. Better than switching off in SSBM and MK DD, though when there's a smaller number of people we usually play GCN at my place or the like. But whatever. And these "skulls" are interesting...

I'm gonna hope this one sees a PC release like the first one did. The PC version has a 100% chance of superiority to the console version, simply because the PC version will feature fulid controls, a camera you control with a hand, and free multiplayer.

By the time Halo 2 is released for the PC it will be very, very dated. Hell, it's beat by Half Life 2 now.

A small price to pay for playing Halo 2 as it's meant to be played. Give me a mouse over a joystick to control Master Cheif's hand anyday.
