The last person I would ever expect tp get an Xbox is getting one, ME! Well, Chris Malachowsky(Nvidia) and his family are a good family friend of my family. Ms. Malachowsky, his mom, is giving me her X-Box that she has had since release. Please give me advice on game choices('sides Halo 1+2, and Knights of the Old Republic 1+2) and whether I should get Live or not.

Not Halo 2.

Shenmue 2 if you love Asian culture, or Ninja Gaiden if you want a challenge.

Well, 'Oddworld', 'Dead or Alive 3', 'Crimson Skies', and 'MechAssault' are all top-notch, and you can get them all for a song these days. I'd personally also recommend 'Samurai Warriors', 'Armed and Dangerous', 'Fable', 'Chronicles of Riddick', and 'Metal Slug 3', although I freely acknowldge that a great many would disagree with me, being that I'm right and they're wrong. And, of course, there are the 'Midway Arcade' games, which have something for just about everyone.

As for 'Live'...well, ask someone else. I'm not on it.

I **HIGHLY** reccomend Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. If you get Xbox live, then you can download Yavin, and that sidequest can get you rare crystals for your lightsabre. (Orange or Turquoise)

I have't played Knights of the Old Republic 2, but it looks pretty good. I'm waiting for it to come out on the PC.

Best live games are crimson skies and halo 2 imo. mechassault 2 is hitting early next week, and that should be excellent over live.

the live service makes the entire system worth it.

Oh, just so you know, do NOT buy Grabbed by the Ghoulies. Don't even so much as rent it. Don't try saying "But it was made by Rare!", it's a waste of time and money.

I got my first two games:
Halo 2
LOTR: TTT

How much does a month or yearly subscription cost? I have 2 2-month subsciption cards(1 from Halo 2, 1 from Phoenix controller).

Subscription is 49.99 for 12 months, plus a credit card for validation. I'd really recommend buying a starter kit, as they cost 49.99 or 69.99 (with Crimson Skies), and they come with the headset. You don't want to be the jerk without a headset...trust me.
