Akinator, the Web Genius

Here's another one of those cool oracles which divine the character you're thinking of through yes/no questions. A Touhou message board I go to has successfully trained it for every single Touhou character, minor character, and fan character =/

It's even got more obscure characters (it got Chester Cheetah, Tron Bonne, Colonel Sanders, Oppenheimer, etc.). I managed to slip a few by him (Kogepan was one of them, though it was on the "was it this character?" list), but that's because it limits to 20 questions. Every now and then it really pegs it and you can tell (I was thinking of Souseiseki, and I realized it was on to me when it asked "is your character a doll?"). Sometimes the questions are kind of silly. Sometimes, the characters are silly ("The one nothing is known about", "The Yes Pressing Person", "Someone who kept clicking on No to see what happens").

Every now and then, though, it ****ing floors me how it knows.

Mao (yes)
Lou Shaoqi (no) [I have no idea how it missed him and got Lin Biao, but it did]
Zhou en-Lai (yes)
Lin Biao (yes)

Non-RL that I just did:
Most of the Skies of Arcadia cast. Missed everyone that wasn't a main character. It got cocky and guessed at 15 when I was doing Cupil. Failed miserably.
Error (AoL) No, not Phoenix Wright
Trinexx - Not Bowser. (first to do this one.)
O'Brien (1984) - Who is Mark Darcay? Worst he's done on this one.
Winston (1984) - Yes. Get this, fail hard on O'Brien. Such a strange game.
Beetle (WW) - Not Allejo. Considering he took until 16 to ask the video game question, this was doomed.

I just did Coca-Cola. Akinator guessed "iPod" even though I said it's not connected to apples.

And remember, "I'm-a Coca-Cola, number one!"

I just thought of Guy from Final Fight/Street Fighter Alpha.

He guessed Dan.

Wow.....

Kamen Rider was next on my mind.

He guessed Tuxedo Mask.

So close, yet so far.

I tried Kamen Rider again.

He got it that time.

I think answering no to, "Is your character from japanese animation is what did it for him.

Me and a few of my friends have been training him for pretty much every Tales of and Fire Emblem character.

He also got all the KoF characters I tried.

Yeah, this system works mostly on picking up through thousands of answers who's who and thus figuring out anything he hasn't seen yet over time.

So only really obscure, fanless characters can get through. Or very vague ones.
