I want totally unbiased opinions here, if that is possible. I already know that the GC rules in the special character department, but I also want a head to head between controls and load times and graphics, and overall impressiveness. Soul Calibur II is really cheap right now so I might go pick it up. But I'm not sure which copy I should get for which system, since I have all three. |

For the GCN, like you said, also has the plus side of Link. |

Somehow, I can adapt prefectly to any controller that fits in my hands in about an hour. Game controls are another story. I know I've been frustrated with Soul Calibur II a number of times because somebody didn't do something. However, the only version I've played the the GCN, so I can't say which is the best. ![]() Where are these lemmings going? The Super Nintendo Super Shire! Hop in line and follow them there! |

I can't say I like how the A button is 100 times bigger than the B button, and hitting X and Y at the same time is kinda hard... But Spawn and Heihachi are dumb. |

All you have to do to win is back up to the edge then grab and throw them. Thanks to his backwards hurl this is an instant ring out and it gets old. But thats just me, and dont get me wrong I dont hate link, I just hate the people controlling link. |

Influenced= GaaaaAAAAaamme CuuuUUUuube. IT HAS LINK FOR GOD'S SAKE. Non biasd no link influenced= I say ps2, Xbox controllers just don't feel right. controler wise ps2 is slightly better. Always loved them. They're damn close to being perfect. Sometime they don't fit in my hands right. Game cube controller are great, but might be a bit tricky for the game. So yeah, no playing any of them,b ut knowing what it is opinion is ps2. Secound place almost tied is gamecube. DISTANT third Xbox. Seriusly thought, my low time with it was not to good. The controller seemed to suck fun out of Halo and the other games I played. |

It has a good selection of games, but with controllers like that, you can't really enjoy any of them. They need to scrap that crappy controller and make something for people who don't have huge hands. ![]() |

But then again, Microsoft is new to the gaming industry, so they don't have an original character to put in their game. A better bet would have been a DoA character or someone from a game that will only be on Xbox from now on. But the game is already made, no sense arguing about it. ![]() |

I found that the PS2 had really long loading times. The Xbox demo version was pretty good, and I liked the Japanese voice overs better (it sounds cooler when you don't know what they are saying (Street Fighter's Ken or Ryu for example)). Since I have large hands, the controller is no problem for me at all. Actually, I prefer the larger controller over the new Type S. Anyways, it looks that I've been influenced to get the Cube version, and I think just the fact that Link's in it is enough for me. |

I'm not a fan of Heihachi. |

As for Soul Calibur 2, the Gamecube version is the only one I own, however, Xbox apparently has the best visuals (very marginally better than Gamecube) and its load times are quick. PS2, although still good, has granier graphics but doesn't detract from overall gameplay too much. I wouldn't listen to those who haven't even played the game, especially when they're basing opions on certain stereotypes of the systems. However, the game IS Soul Calibur after all, and it will be awesome for any system you choose. [ June 22, 2004, 12:49 AM: Message edited by: Phenom ]

X-box is big, black, with green. Seriously though, my guess is that Namco knew Microsoft's demographic, and didn't really know what appealed to Americans, and since they had Todd McFarlane designing the horrid character Necrid, they decided on throwing in Spawn. Overall, They're all SCII, so it doesn't really matter which version you get. Unless you get the PS2 version. ![]()
