We brought him home a few hours ago and named him Strider. We introduced him to the cats, and then the dogs. He's asleep now. I'm so happy!

He's not a kitty. I think five cats is enough. He's a doggie.

He's two years old. The adoption center called him "Montana", but we call him "Strider".

We had one of our other dogs pass away about a month ago. Since about a week after that, we've been searching for another one. We saw this one at a PetCo two weeks ago, along with a border collie. He was at another PetCo the following week. The collie got adopted, and this one really stuck into my memory. Plus, he loves cats. That was a must in our household.

My mom said he's an Australian Shephard mixed with some kind of terrier. He's a golden brown with some dark brown fur around his neck and white spots here and there.

Yeah, I don't think ANYONE who posted had ANY idea WHAT sort of creature you were talking about. At first I actually thought it was a human, but you wouldn't name one of those Strider, I guess.

I'm an animal person, but primarily a cat person. However, I'll love just about any animal that isn't in the Insect or Arachnid family.

I regret to say that it was my first thought, either son or brother or something. But dogs rock, I have lots of cats too. I never have much luck with dogs though, we just got two puppies, my sis named em' Sue and Josie. They're pure bred coon dogs (beagles I think, we just say Coon Dogs). Most of our dogs get hit by cars or we have to put them to sleep. But enough about my life, congrats. Strider is a great name.
