I've listened to this station since I was a little kid. They are the only station in the Philly market that plays good modern rock. Radio-1, being the asshats that they are, desided to change it to a rap station. Those bastards.

Even though i'm halfway across the country, here in Sac-town there is only one alternative station, too. And I would kill if it dissapeared.

Besides, rap sucks anyway.

Damn, that sucks. Our only alternative station slowly seems to becoming top 40 as well. It used to be the only alternative station in North America back in the early 80s too.

Petition: I'm tired of the people who are ignorant of a type of music that they've NEVER heard before, or have only heard one form of it. Take rap for example, so many people just CANNOT stand it, and I agree somewhat, how can you stand 90% of that mainstream bull? I know I can't, I listen to a lot of underground. I just want whoever signs this petition to understand they are signing this to remove all ignorance, from Rap, Rock, R&B, whatever. Music AND Race, come on world, it's time to wake up.

Really, guys...rock and rap aren't that different.

The good stuff talks about some heavy topics and/or major social injustices/issues going on.

The crappy stuff usually contains sex, violence, and drugs.

They're essentially the same. Just different styles.

Now, if they're adding another rap station if there are a hojillion other rap stations out there, then that might be something that could get your panties in a twist. Not the fact that they're replacing something with a rap station.

And there is no way that that station is the only alt rock station in Philly. That's just retarded, there has to be more.

^ I agree with Andi here. It just annoys me when someone says they hate a particular kind of music, because there are many different styles within a genre...there's no way you can't like any of them, it's just a matter of being exposed to it. There are certain genres of music that I don't like, but once in awhile I'll hear a song from that genre that I enjoy. Which is why when someone asks me, "What kind of music do you listen to?" I just say "Whatever sounds good."
