| First off, I promise you that the next new non-puzzle game I do will be a tweaked Many Marios that focuses more on direct battling than it used to. The deeper game that goes with it, Luigi's Units, is also not forgotten. Make sure to remind me about this paragraph I typed. But the point of this topic is the new game I have right now. Below are the rules and structure of how this'll work. The important parts are in bold, and will make me not happy if somebody asks a question about those important things I mentioned in this first post. First off, the reason I title this game as "Survival" is because you will be struggling to keep your score up while at the same time trying to lower the score of your opponents. People can join at any time, and will start off with 100 points. You'll build on these 100 points with a series of small challenges in order to try for the best advantage, which is of course an amount of points higher than everybody else. Every so often, there will be a large challenge in which you must wager your points and make good use of your items (which'll be explained in a few posts) in order to boost your score a great deal. Being on the lower end of the scoring chain isn't always a bad thing. If your score ever goes all the way down to 0, it instantly jumps back up to 5. Also when your score is lower, your items can have a greater effect or you might have the chance to earn "catch-up bonuses" and other various thingies I may be able to think of. The key thing to know is that if your score is between 1 and 10, you are completely immune from any negative effects or things that make you lose points. So if you don't win one of the major challenges, it's no big deal - just get your score back up with the small challenges. I will try my best to let you all know in advance when the major challenges will be. If you do not participate in them you will lose points, so if you won't be there at that time, tell me before it happens so that I'll see what I can do. See, I'm kinda nice, right? The official winner is the person that reaches X amount of points first. What is X equal to? I'm not sure yet. But when I do figure it out, I'll let you all know. So, for this first challenge I won't put a scoreboard up. Also for this first challenge, I'll give you a hint as to what I'm looking for in order to get the maximum score. Small task (maximum of 8 points) Name an annoying course or star to earn in Super Mario 64. ![]() Origin of Entria [ July 10, 2005, 06:09 PM: Message edited by: S1x, the slightly too logical ] | |

Not only are there pits everywhere, the course is filled with annoying enemies, thin platforms that fall after standing on them, and having to just stand on the carpet, and getting off once it starts flashing. Come on! I mean, it's about as hard as S1x's games, but with more annoyance. ![]() |

The Red Coin challenge on the course where you get the Wing Cap. Dang, that course annoys. Up and down, up and down, and eventually the wing Cap starts to make you go lower, then eventually it's no longer possible to go higher, then if you're not above the platform you go back to the castle. Stupid thing! It's the kinda thing that's more annoying than Jay's lack of updates! |

One little mistake and you're sent hurtling downward, to your death or at least two points of damage. And the blue coins were tough to get. Getting 100 coins without a single mistake was damn annoying. |

So much lava, and it was so easy to fall off the edge. And when you did fall, you'd have to go right back to the start! It's almost as annoying as Luigi007 (Heh, no offense dude, needed to put that in somehow. Does Jay count as a mod?) |

Once you get the hang of it, it's really not that hard but sometimes you can't reach the higher areas without going to the lower areas first, which obviously is annoying. Another annoying thing about it is landing on the clouds. If you hip drop too early or late, you'll die and some of the clouds disappear just as you're about to land on them. |

| Ding. That's the nonrealistic sound of the Survival buzzer, meaning that now the answers will be looked at and scoring will update accordingly. So at this point, the leader is... Luigi007 - 116 (+11) Knux - 116 (+11) Sarcasm - 112 (+12) Prince Toad - 108 (+8) Link2000 - 108 (+8) Chunky - 105 (+5) TML - 105 Fireyoshi - 105 SML - 105 SM1987 - 105 Lookee that, we got a tie at the beginning. But, not all challenges will be that breezy. Some will be unforgiving and nasty, such as this next one. Small task (maximum of 0 points) There is a bomb. This bomb will explode in a little bit, causing everybody to lose some of their points. Now, there are three shields I have. When you post, you're allowed to take one of these shields to defend yourself and not lose any points. You can also take somebody else's shield if you don't have one. You all will continue swiping each other's shields until I say the bomb explodes. This'll be exciting, huh? As soon as you get a shield, nobody is allowed to take it from you for 15 minutes. If somebody tries before that 15 minutes, that steal does not count. Make sure to specify which shield it is you're taking. You can't have 2 or more shields at the same time. Bonus (4 points): Use at least 100 vowels in a single post. ![]() Origin of Entria | |
