Perhaps it's just me, but the arcane and mysterious task of resizing an image to some new width-height ordered pair is not this esoteric process which must be done levied upon those who must provide likenesses of themselves in order to define the graphical quality of a game.

9-Volt, in all honesty, if you're asking for these types of questions, you need to either not make an RPG or find someone willing to help you in order to do so rather than force these crazy requirements on people. Because if you're not willing to do a little bit of work to create a game, you're easily going to get a little bit in, realise it's hard, give up, and then piss off everyone who you've asked to tweak pictures in such and such a way.

^ I was going to say that, but I was afraid he'd get pissy. From the start, I wasn't sure 9-V'd be able to live up to what Cravdraa does. Of course, I could be completely wrong. It would be nice to be pleasantly suprised. Let's just hope this doesn't turn out to be the Lemmings Revoloution sort of thing.

Look, the thing is, I just want to make an enjoyable RPG, I've done this before, and I want to make sure that the game has no bugs, no ugly sprites, absolutally nothing wrong with it, just pure fun.

Anyway...

As a child, Jerred(the old mage) was always fascinated by magic. The abiltiy to alter reality to your own will...amazing...

Around the age of 14, he began studying as a sorcerer's apprentice. He learned potent spells, studied hard, and by the time he was 16, was ready to move on to another sorcerer...eventually, he learned every spell known to the world, and by studying those, invented countless more.

At the age of 48, the mage began taking young people under his wing, and taught them how to become any and all kind of magic-using creature. Some became Genies. Some became faries.*coughHotDcough* And some became sorcerers. And then there was the person who simply sought to use the spells, and his sword, as well.A . A "job" unseen for 120 years.[insert Our Hero's name here]. He wanted to be the world's greatest Hero ever.

The mage taught,and eventually the young man became a Hero, both as a class of job, and in the public's eye.

The old man joins up nigh the beginning of the adventure, as he senses trouble coming from the future...
