... whoa. Makes you wonder, is simply changing a #define or similar now not considered removing stuff from your game?
Certainly makes the final build process longer if so.

The feds can't regulate game modding. If people want to mod the game to put sex in it, they will.

The point is, it's in the game originally and it's just a pointer that's been changed to re-enable the code. Nothing new actually got added by the modders.

It sounds as though Rockstar wanted to put this in, but couldn't get it past the ESRB. Pretty pathetic when this is perfectly fine for 14+ TV, but is too "pornographic" for a 17+ game.

The worst thing is that the government could very possibly regluate this stuff. Are we to have no liberty?

Capn, the content that is being put in the game (with such codes/mods) is indeed AO and not M.

This is a tough one to play, if you ask me. I think it's absolutely STUPID for them to have kept the code to do this on there, and it was stupid for them to have coded it up in the first place knowing a priori that that very scene would change the rating.

Honestly, I think the makers of the game failed in doing so, and that this was absolutely sloppy programming and administrative practice, whether or not it could be unlocked with a cheating device or not.

Rockstar has always been sloppy making games. in SA, there are numerous gliches that don't make sense. Like if you save in a certain place, all the basketballs dissapear for no reason

Giving it an AO rating eliminates whatever credibility the ESRB may have had. Rockstar's stupid for even allowing the remote possibility for this to happen.

So if I make a mod with some nude skins the game will be rated AO?

Even if it is rated AO, that's still better than having the government regulate it.

Plus, this seems to be only for the PC version anyway. You can't download a mod for the PS2/Xbox versions.

The PS2 version also has it in it. Unlock is via a memory toggle hack of a normally constant variable.

Eh. You do have to tinker with the variables in order to open this up though. Since none of this stuff appears in a regular playing of the game, I think they should get away with this one. If you can't access it through regular playthrough it may as well not be there at all.

Also, where's Jay? He always says such rude things when Hillary Clinton is involved.
