BOYCOTT STARBUCKS

Starbucks Coffee

Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffees and to request that they send some of it to the troops there.

Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support in their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it , and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee.

So as not to offend Starbucks, we should not support them by buying any of their products. As a war vet writing to fellow patriots, I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground fighting street-to-street and house-to-house for what they believe is right.

If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can discard it and no one will never know. Thanks very much for your support of me, and I know you'll all be there again when I deploy once more.

Never mind that I HATE coffee and I've never voluntarily entered a Starbucks in my life, so this wouldn't change jack-squat for me anyway, but did whoever wrote this really think the people at Starbucks were dumb enough to believe everyone in the army supports the war? I mean, we're talking about a company that is able to open two locations right next door to each other and have neither one lose customers. Starbucks' is run by intelligent people.

I once got an e-mail from a lady in Africa, or was it the Middle East?, that thought that I was a citizen of England...I don't even know how she got it...She wanted to transfer her money into my bank account so she can safely leave the country with her kids without anyone taking her money... Obviously I couldn't comply. I don't have a British bank account, and I don't live in England...So the e-mail was trashed...

Some dummy claimed that their email would make people hate me for all eternity if I didn't send it to everyone.

I deleted it and somehow the letter had the reverse effect on itself: I hate it for all eternity.

^^Oh, I've gotten tons of those. They always think I'm some kind of big shot dignitary or something. Apparently a LOT of African politicians have widows & kids trying to leave the continent.

Dear Readers,

Almost 5 months ago I sent an e-mail to you my faithful friends. I did a wrong thing that needs to be cleared up. I heard by word of mouth about how Starbucks said they didn't support the war and all. I was having enough of that kind of talk and didn't do my research properly like I should have. This is not true. Starbucks supports men and women in uniform. They have personally contacted me and I have been sent many copies of their company's policy on this issue. So I apologize for this quick and wrong letter that I sent out to you.

Now I ask that you all pass this email around to everyone you passed the last one to. Thank you very much for understanding about this.

He's never going to be able to completely cover this.
