I'm not from inland north or midland, but the third option of northeast is correct. I also don't call carbonated drinks pop. What am I, Canadian? On a sidenote, I'm apparently 47% American. __________________ I can do anything that a 9-year-old and a monkey can do. Last edited by El Presidente; 01-14-2007 at 11:35 PM. |

| Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | "The West", a.k.a. accent-less town. There's a reason call centre jobs are outsourced there; everyone there sounds very non-accented. I'm from Toronto, by the way; I kind of expected this answer. |

| Condescending Film Jerk | A more accurate assessment of me after changing one answer: You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop." |

Your Result: The Midland "You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. I don't know if the Quad Cities counts as Southern Illinois. |

Gender: Posts: 12,409 Thanks: 551 Thanked 911 Times in 619 Posts | The West: Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta. |
