Extreme Makeover basically pissed off an entire town when they did a home last year for a man with a criminal past. Shouldn't they have done background checks on the people they help before they go ahead with the projects????

Um, what's the problem? Why should we not let people with criminal pasts participate in society or let them have a home makeover just because they did something wrong?

You make it sound like they're disgusing convicts. The justice system is based on the fact that, yes, a man can change. Whether he has, though, is a mystery-desu.

Two armed robberies, a misdeameanor assault, and 3 DUI convictions are not "light crimes". Especially when the assault was committed 7 years before they won the house. Sure he lost an arm in a lobster boat, but they think he was screwing around because he was drunk. He is a major alcoholic too.

as if it wasn't bad enough....the man is one-armed and they give him a huge lobsterman's boat. He later sold the boat because he couldn't handle it. I think I should cut off my own arm because I want a new house.

So according to daoist beliefs...giving a criminal a full belly and a mansion will supposedly turn them good? I happen to live in this town...and I know very well that he kicked his daughter out too!

You can't just straight up judge people. He may have had a lengthy criminal past, but that doesn't mean he's particularly stuck as an idiot.

It's EM's choice of what they wanna do with their money, everyone else should get out their business if it doesn't concern them.

I think with crap to lose that he would think twice about doing stupid things.
