Our prayers have been answered, folks! The official word from Shigeru Miyamoto is that Capcom (the makers of the Oracle games and the A Link to the Past remake) are working on a brand new, totally original Zelda game for GBA! We'll see more of it at E3. To quote Mr. Miyamoto:

"We have many new games for you at E3!"

Sweetness!!!!

Kick. Ass. But, why is Nintendo letting Capcom produce most of the Gameboy Zelda games?

Oddly enough, Back when OoA\OoS went into development the president of Capcom aproached Nintendo and stated (among other things) that he had always wanted to work on a zelda game and that Capcom would start making games for nintendo systems again if they were allowed to do so. I guess it just carried over.

So far the GBA Zeldas done by Capcom were good, so i really don't care. I'm sure they will do a great job. I can't wait!

And at night when the children rested, dreaming of the wonderful presents they will recieve in the morning, Gannondorf slipped down the chimmnies of every house in town, and stole the presents, taking them back to his fortress of solitude. Then Richard Nixon went and got them all back, and thats how Richard Nixon saved Christmas. ~Nappy

Didn't Capcom have a part in making The Wind Waker too?

To make up for the beating they're taking on RE sales. Interesting strategy if it would work.

The Oracles were both excellent games. I'd really like to see another awakening/oracles style game.

Prehaps it's the cancelled third oracle game....

Capcom's work with the Oracles games impressed me, I trust them with the gameboy incarnations of the Zelda Series.

I hope it's not another remake. One more remake and I'll scream.

Doesn't sound like a remake, unless MM did a terrible job posting the info.

I bet every one that this game will also include Four Swords, just like every Mario Advance includes Mario Bros

I have a feeling it will contian Four Swords, but with different levels and such, which wouldn't be all together bad. Personally I wish you could have the other Links be computer controlled...

I don't see Capcom doing another re-release though. I think we can expect a new Zelda game, maybe give Metroid Fusion a run for it's money.
