Masters of Doom is a book that no FPS fan should pass up when it hits bookstores. It chronicles the friendship and eventual falling out between Doom and Quake creators John Carmack and John Romero. They helped shape modern pop culture, certainly within the gaming world, but well beyond it as well. They also managed to spark a national controversy; a claim that not many people can make.
