How did you first join VGF? - Page 2 - VGF

Fairly long story.

I use to got to a website called Pokemasters.com. And used to post quite alot on their boards. (Don't quite remember the year, but it was a bit before Pkmn Gold and Silver were released.) Then I left them for a reason, I think it was due to lack of internet abled computers....

Anyway. Got Pkmn Ruby and needed help getting a Dragon Scale. I remember the site Pokemasters, and tried to go back there. However I was redirected to VGF. Saw that the forums had a Pkmn section. Applied for membership, and posted my question.

That's it....Oh and I did eventually get a Dragon Scale.

Anybody that joined 2005 or after would be amazed by how the forums were before. There were close to 50 or 60 members that were active all the time and well known. A lot more active than it is now.

Nintendoland.

I found it through its 'Nintendoland Forums' section. Indeed, I was one of the original members of the Nintendoland Battlefield Crew which successfully lobbied for the creation of the Battlefield. I also posted in Hyrule Battlefield 2 and 3 (narrowly missed number 1.)

SMBHQ, NC, and co. were all primarily afterthoughts I found after Nintendoland had been brutally killed. I still miss Nintendoland today, as it had a depth of content on Nintendo that nobody else (to my knowledge) has attempted to recapture.

As Brandon mentioned, the old forums were very different, on UBB and all. I can't say they were nothing like this, but things seemed more like a home back then.

Tee hee. I was a nice newboy. I lurked for a few months without posting much. I didn't start my own thread for the longest time (months? years?). I think I really got out of my shell when I started posting in OGs and RPs. A couple that I remember were "I'M BACK WITH AN EVEN BIGGER RPG!!!!!!!!!!!", a Smash Bros OG, and Super Mario Adventures. I discovered Nintendoland when it was still, you know, alive, and a little after it's much lamented demise, I looked at the forum area and clicked the link to this, and registered under a name, a secret name. My first thread was in the Nintendo Forum. I also was in NetGen when it was around. So now I'm here.
