Well, it's not that bad at this point, but it will be soon. Hell, my mom and I had to rush to 7-11 Christmas afternoon to get some Benadrill because she gave me a chocolate with walnuts in it. I thought it had nuts in it, but she said it didn't. It did. I only had one bite, but that was enough. (Not to mention half of our Christmas cookies had walnuts or pecans in them... but I didn't eat those. I pretty much just ate sugar cookies while everyone else pigged out on the other ones.) ... so... anyone else with allergies, or other related thoughts? You know you do. |

| Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | Yeah, allergies suck. I believe I'm allergic to Amoxicillin, which is a first-line antibiotic. Oh the irony, especially since the chemical structure contains no iron at all. =\ |

Which is good, because I never liked them anyway. I remember when I was 7 and the first time I ever ate a walnut, I wondered why everyone liked them because they left this irritating, scratchy feel in your throat and internal ear. Eventually I said to my mom, "Maman, I don't like walnuts. I hate how they leave that itchy feeling in your throat." At that point, I was never forced to eat walnuts again. Later at Disneyland, I ate a snackbar that had pecans in it and had another reaction. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what happened. So if you eat something and it gives you a weird tingly scratchy feeling in your throat, don't just keep it to yourself. >< |

| Vibrates On Command | Well, that sucks. Do you have to carry an epipen now? Are you French, BTW? __________________ Why is it drug addicts and computer afficionados are both called users? -Clifford Stoll |

I have to carry an epipen, and my dad is completely French. My mom, however, has us call her by the French word for mother (maman) because she's a french-english translator and is bilingual, even though she herself is not French. |

| OhMYGOSH... I do feel for you!!! I am glad that you didn't have anything serious happen. I don't like the taste of walnuts anyways... so we'll give them to someone else, huh? ![]() I'm allergic to *unrolls list* :/ ...two different antibiotics, cats, dogs, horses, hay and a multitude of pollens and moulds. It's never any fun being allergic to anything!!! Luckily, I can avoid most of mine... except the dreaded Spring time when pollen fills the air. ![]() | |

See, at the very least, the things I'm allergic to... -I don't like the taste of -are not TOO common compared to other nuts -are fairly easy to avoid Allergies are no fun, indeed. (I also have sensitive skin, especially to Cetaphil lotion and other such products, but that is easier to live with since I don't use too many facial skin products, anyway.) |

Food allergies are the worst; I'm glad I don't have any. Although you'd never have to worry about walnuts in anything I make, since I hate nuts. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

It's really a bitch when you buy stuff for your broken-out face, only to find out it makes your skin break out even more. Faaaantastic. |

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

The thing is, on Christmas, the chocolates were all boxed together and the ingredients were for all the candies as a whole; it didn't specify which had nuts and which didn't. It's become my philosophy to just not eat something that's a chocolate/pastry if I don't know for certain what's in it. I usually have my mom be my food tester and eat a bite of whatever it is I'm not sure of, too.. ![]() ---another side-story-------- My aunt and uncle mailed us a fruitcake for Christmas. It was a really kind gesture and looked good, but unfortunately, every square inch of it had about a hundred pecans. >< | |

| Senior Member | I'm illergic to nothing. Or so I think. I don't eat many varied foods, so...yeah. It must suck to be illergic to something. ![]() Oh, wait, I know what I'm illergic to! My younger cousins. Sorta. |

Epic Ladynerd Join Date: Jul 2000 Location: Forteresse de Valois Gender: Posts: 23,314 Thanks: 220 Thanked 306 Times in 192 Posts | My mouth, throat and lips sometimes feel itchy/scratchy/tingly when I eat certain things. It's not like an actual allergy (yet), though. Uhhh let's see. Cucumber, raw peas, oysters and some other things, I think. I'm also very allergic to cats, some short-hair dogs and a type of plant called wattle. The wattle is in bloom at the moment, so sometimes I just start sneezing for no apparent reason. |
