| Just thinking Alright, I thought it would be a good idea to toss out some of the ideas I've been having for all of you to see. Probably 90% of the content here will be various forum games. One of the main reasons I made this topic is for feedback - if you ever want more info on something, really want to see me do one of these soon, or even want to use one of these ideas for yourself, then simply say so in here. Camouflage This is yet another possible game based on a game show I liked. Basically, the goal is to be the first person to find the answer hidden in the string of letters I provide. The answer always reads from left to right. As time passes, I take away letters to make it easier to find. For example... BOXPASSFORBIGHATS Clue: What a video game character who wants a promotion does Now, maybe you can't find it instantly, so eventually, you'd see some letters go away like this... BOXP SSFO IGHAT And sooner or later, somebody would post the correct answer (or time would run out), which in this case, is "Boss fight". Here's a couple more... the answers are in the spoiler tags. ACOOLWINTER Clue: Can go straight through a plane C OLWIN E Line SADPEOPLELIKESAEED Clue: "Fruity" pioneer? ADPE PLEL K SAEED Appleseed Scoring and winning would be in a very similar format to Now You See It, except here, the puzzles start at a certain amount of points, and the value goes down by 10 with each letter I remove. Will I make this game soon? ...No clue. Lingo If you've been here a long time, you may remember that Knux sometimes hosted this game. For a while I've been hesitant about bringing it up, but I think it would be cool to one day create a tweaked version of it dedicated to him. If you haven't seen the game, people guess a simple 5-letter word, and if it's not completely correct, letters that go into the word are shown. The person that gets the word right earns a point. The only thing I was thinking about adjusting would be adding a bonus board with numbers on it, and when somebody gets a word right they automatically get a random number. If that number clears 5 in a row across, up and down, or diagonally, they get bonus points and the board resets. This, however, would require me to be constantly active, and I don't know if I could guarantee that. =/ Remember, these are all just ideas. You're probably not going to see any of these real soon... unless there's extremely postive feedback on any certain thing. | |

| Match Game 08? Every once in a while, I do think of some silly statement with a blank in it, but I don't know how well a re-revival of the game would work. Last time fewer and fewer people participated until I just sort of cut the topic off from its life support. If I can figure out how to keep the activity going at a good pace, then maybe... VGF card battles "Wait, what??" I should warn you right now that this has very little to do with those special cards that HotD creates sometimes. This is something completely different, and one of the games that I really liked and don't know why I stopped it so fast. I think that was a time where I was really busy with other things or something, I don't know. Anyways, the game would borrow all of its mechanics from this, except with less of a theme and a way, way better sorted card list. Basic Card (10, 9, 9, 1, 1) Presto, this is an example of one card with no special effect. Basically, if you participate, you get some cards to start with. Differently named cards may have different effects or quirks to them. However, it's extremely unlikely that two of the same kind of card will ever have the same stats. The 5 numbers on each one (Attack, Second Attack, Defense, Speed, Bonus) are generated randomly, usually by my nice calculator. You can earn more cards by challenging others to duels. Engaging in the duel is as simple as telling me which 5 cards you're going to use. When the opponent does the same, the entire duel happens automatically. So, this means you don't really have to be that active in order to participate and do well - just one PM and you've set up your duel. However, this does not mean that the duel will be easy to predict at all. ![]() As long as I keep my calculator near me, this shouldn't be that hard to manage. But right now, I'm currently managing enough things as it is. I do want to try this out soon, though. Maybe if there was a co-host that could assist me at times...... I can go into some more detail about this, at anybody's request. | |

| Marilink card - Attack will never be lower than [value] Wyborn card - Guarantees a counterattack Shane card - Has stat caps of [max+5] instead of [max] Jay card - Bans any HotD cards from the duel? They're pretty easy to invent, heh Edit: Wow, the Jay card already existed and I forgot. Jay card - Attack, Second Attack, and Defense become [max] during a bonus, and bans any HotD cards from the duel Last edited by S1x; 02-06-2008 at 03:14 AM. | |

| VGF Card battles continued Since it looks like some of you guys are interested, I'll post a little more about this thingy, like what I'm doing right now. This time I'll cover what happens when two cards face each other during a duel. If you looked at the old "NC Cards" topic, it would work slightly differently if I posted it currently. One obvious difference is these cards have a maximum value of 15. Basic Card (4, 13, 7, 11, 3) vs. Basic Card (9, 6, 0, 12, 9) Both these cards would attack at the same time. The left card would get an initial score of (Main Attack - enemy Defense = 4 - 0) 4 points, and the right card would earn 9 - 7 = 2 points. Now, this is when counterattacks start. The losing card, which in this case is the right card, uses its Second Attack to score more - and this attack ignores defense. That counts for an extra 6 points, so the right card's score is up to 8. However, now the left side is losing, so it does its counterattack for an extra 13. The final scores for this battle would be: Player 1, +17; Player 2, +8. Ironically, if the card on the right had a Second Attack of 2 or less, the left card would not have attacked again, and so the right card wouldn't be losing by as much. Interesting, ain't it? Sometimes, at the start of each battle between two cards, a Bonus happens. In this case, each person instantly gains points equal to the current card's Bonus number (the final number), and then the battle starts. The bonus points play no part in the actual battle. If a Bonus had happened in this battle, the results would be Player 1 +20; Player 2 +17. Hopefully you can tell why. This may be obvious already, but after all the cards have finished battling, the player with the highest score is the winner. The loser will still gain a card for participating; however, the winner gets more cards. You will have a good amount of cards, but you can only choose 5 to battle with. If you keep in mind that your cards will be arranged in order of Speed numbers (the fourth number), highest to lowest, and you think you know which cards your opponent is choosing, you may be able to match up certain cards against certain enemy ones. More on this soon, if anybody wants it. | |

| Random thought If I were to host a series of quick Mafia games (about 7 or 8 people each time) with various themes, would people be interested? Or is one big one at a time already enough to handle? heh heh heh... | |

| Let's Make A Deal What if all of a sudden I gave you 100 coins in a new game just for posting? Then, what if I immediately told you that you can buy a virtual box I have for the 100 coins I just gave you? You eventually make your decision, and if you kept the coins, I'd show you the prize you passed on and tell you its value; you'll either by very happy or very annoyed. If you choose the prize, I almost tell you what it is, but then stop... Either way, all of a sudden, I say that there's another prize I will offer you if you give up the coins/prize you're currently holding. It could be a golden soda bottle worth thousands, or my favorite leaf collection worth too little to count. What will you choose, the guarantee or the mystery? That's the premise of the show Let's Make A Deal, and I could imitate it pretty well, with my own quirks of course. In this game there would have to be a line of people waiting for their next chance to try and make the best deal. However, I would try to go quite rapidly through this line so that nobody has to wait too long. Multiple people might participate in a single deal. There would be a variety of different mini-games and concepts each "episode", so you won't see the same thing too often. I may even stick some Deal or No Deal in here somewhere. ![]() At the end of each "episode", the top winners participate in a "Big Deal" where they have the chance to earn a large amount of stuff if they give up all the things they won in the mini-games. High scorers would definitely get a reward of some kind. Let's see what you think of this idea. By the way, Monty Hall rules. Even I can't think of things as spontaneously as him. | |

But useing members of vgf is a good idea too. |

| Um... do you mean a game that used my rules that I never heard of? Because if so I would really like a link to that as fast as possible. | |

| Smash Bros. Mafia Even if somebody is already preparing to do this, I really hope they'll consider using some of these things I've thought about to make this special. I'm assuming if you're reading this that you know basically how the Zelda Mafia games have worked or you've participated in them, so I'll skip all the stuff that would be the same. The things that would be different, of course, include the characters and settings. Any character or boss character or even minor character from any Smash Bros. game could be possible roles, leaving a lot of possibilities. The story would probably involve a gate to Subspace opening up and bad guys (Mafia) turning characters (the Town) into trophies and stuff. I personally would not include any Hero-type characters... instead, I would include a special item, Smash Balls. Every character with abilities, good or evil, would have these abilities strengthened or altered (their Final Smash action ) if they acquire one of these. Those Smash Balls would probably appear a couple times during the game and would have special requirements in order to earn it. They would also automatically be given to a side that was losing by a lot. Just like turning the tides of a battle, they could also bring unexpected twists...It would be interesting to host (or co-host) one of these things after seeing the chaos that happened in other games... Edit: Ah, and role PMs would be like normal except they would contain your normal ability and your Final Smash ability. | |
