Hey, guys... What if more topics start disappearing? It'll seem like some massive data-corruption is happening.

That's a good idea. That, and let the common folk discuss it amongst themselves a little more. That topic in Misc. is largely occupied by people who are in on the joke, which is kind of overplaying our hand.

Hmm... I may go out on a limb and request to be demodded as well, but I think it is more easily believable that some data corruption started with the massive deletion and caused Wy's account to be screwed up.

I don't think large scale de-modding is necessary, but I do think making it last for an extended period of time is a good idea. We'd be better off if the most recent 20% of WoT topics were restored after 3 days or so, and leave the rest (both WoT and other topics we screw with) deleted. Then, after about a week or so, restore everything.

Restoring in increments will increase credibility, because it will give off the idea that Shane or one of the other admins is doing something to fix the problem, but since it is such a "big" problem, it is one that will take "time".

Kind of hurts our credibility if we turn around and claim it was all a joke later on, though. "Oh, sure, it was an April Fools deal. You totally weren't having actual trouble at the time, trouble you're now trying to pass off by claiming you've had everything totally under control since the beginning. No, we seriously believe you all, like one-hundred billion percent."
