I don't understand the huge misconception that TORUNAEMNT PLAEYRS ONLY PLYA ON FD SO TEHY SUCK

Final Destination is good for some characters and bad for others, just like the rest of the stages.

(But the video was pretty funny, I'll admit.)

Yeah, they also play on Battlefield. And Dreamworld. And maybe Smashville.

All totally different stages.

So apparently, you know absolutely nothing about how tournaments go:

Before the fight, both fighters ban one stage, one that their character sucks on, or one their opponent is too good on. When fighting a Marth, you'd want to ban Fountain of Dreams, etc etc.

There's a list of neutral stages: Yoshi's Story, Fountain of Dreams, Pokemon Stadium, Battlefield, Dream Land 64, and Final Destination. For the first battle, the stage is chosen at random from among these.

For the second battle, the loser gets to choose a stage from either the neutral stages or a Counterpick stage. Some stages favor certain characters, so if you want to win the second time, you'd want to pick a stage that is in your character's favor, or not in the other character's favor. The counterpick stages are all the stages left except for the banned ones.

These are the banned stages and the reasons (stated by me) why. Keep in mind, the tournament is pretty competitive and people don't want to lose after a whole day because they got hit by a tool on Flat Zone.

* Brinstar Depths: No ledges, and certain rotations are too good for characters like Marth
* Flat Zone: Stage hazards, you could easily get stage killed at 0%
* Great Bay: The circle--Fox players could shoot one laser and then run away until time runs out
* Icicle Mountain: Stage kills too easily
* Hyrule Temple: The circle--see Great Bay
* Yoshi's Island N6: Something to do with a broken Fox tactic with lasers, but I forget what
* Yoshi's Island (Pipes): Fox can shine people off the stage lickedy-split
* Venom: Divider in the middle is broken for Marth
* Fourside: Divider in the middle is broken for Marth
* Mushroom Kingdom I: Walk-off edges (see Yoshi's Island)
* Big Blue: Stage kills
Mushroom Kingdom II: Walk-off edges.

...and I've been owned. By the power of facts.

Speaking of all this stuff, I heard Bridge of Eldin will probably be banned. I don't think grounded stages should be banned, personally, but whatever.

Huh, Rainbow Cruise isn't banned? It's kinda easy to die, isn't it? Eh.

There should be a tourney where all those rules are inversed--though it would only be 'For Fun' so that nobody is frustrated. Alternatively, randomly pick people based on how insane their playthrough of a stage was.

...

Nah, I'm just coming up for excuses for using Big Blue in Tourney play. That with Mach Rider music is my favorite! ... 'Cuz I'm nuts.

Bowser is great once you learn to play him as a character without tilt attacks. Treat his tilts as smashes and his smashes as punishers and you'll be right.

I think I heard the For Tax Reasons voice in there too...

Some banned stages fluctuate between tourneys. Rainbow Cruise is usually banned, but some people keep it in.

Bridge of Eldin will probably be banned because Dedede can chain throw along the ground all the way to the edge. Green Hill Zone will be, too, but that's also for the god-damned star post.

^Do you know how easy it is not to get hit by the lamppost? I mean, it's really easy.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

It's pretty easy to get hit by it, actually.

I remember hearing about that DDD grab thing.

Also, I predict Mario Bros. will get banned, due to the enemies running around. The knockback on those things are insane.

I actually like Final Destination not because it is an "Even Playing Ground" or "FOX ONLY LAWLS" but because it just has a sense of epicness to it. Also the Tourney Tards don't deserve Brawl.

It's people like you that make me yell at people like Capt, when he didn't deserve it. Just stop. It was a joke in the video, satirical, and kinda funny. When you actually take it seriously, it ceases to be funny.

Also, Capt, if you play with people (like me) who will claim the star post and then try to hit people into it, it's kind of hard to avoid. I love approaching someone with Olimar, hitting the post on the way, grabbing them and back-throwing them into it.

Oh, yeah, it's easy to knock or throw people into it. I thought you were talking about accidentally running into it.
(It's just a lamppost, though. There weren't star posts until Sonic 2.)

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I don't think anyone literally thinks that people play final destination only.

I'll tell you right now NOBODY thinks there are fox-only tournaments.

Also I heard that norfair isn't getting banned! Hurrah!

Also X-3, the stage being easy to die on doesn't mean anything, But some characters can be easily killed with next to no hope to survive on Big Blue and Icicle mountain do to jumping ability, and Flat Zone you can kill people at 0 with a throw.

Some stages are banned for absolutely retarded reasons though. HMMMMM, WALF OFF EDGES? WALLS? THERE ARE EXPLOITS WITH THESE! LETS BAN THE ENTIRE STAGE AND NOT THE EXPLOIT LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Oh yeah, the reason Casual players hate tierdashers are because of a good chunk of them INSIST ON NO ITEMS FOX ONLY FINAL DESTINATION play.

And because smashboards is like the universal tierdasher hangout and they are 90% composed of those guys.

I've taken all the bad jumpers onto Icicle Mountain; they can keep up.

Not if the other person is actively making sure that they don't keep up. heh.

And no, I'm pretty sure Norfair is staying. It's really good for people like Olimar--lots of platforms, lots of ledges. The thing about walk-off edges is pretty valid though, especially in Melee. check this out:

A Fox could shine you all the way across the stage and off the edge with no trouble at all.
