Almost Blinded :(

I don't know if this is the proper place to put this so if it isn't put this somewhere else.

I was almost Blinded in the Right Eye By some Very bad luck on Thursday.

Here is how it happened: We were reaching the final days of school so I told one of my friends They could break My calculator since it had a glitch in it.

My Friend didn't know this but There was another calculator that my Math Teacher let me Borrow for my exam. He started to break that one. I told him to stop so I snatched it from him. The calculator was bent so I tried to Bend it back so it was straight.

At that point a shard from the calculator Flew up into my eye. About a 1 in 1000 odds of happening. As soon as it went in my eye There was alot of pain.

I had to be tooken to the Hospital to Get it Removed. I waited at Outpatients for an hour and 30 minutes to Two Hours. After that They said there was a Specialist In another Area Downtown and that I should be tooken there.

When I heard the Word "Specialist" I knew it couldn't be good.

I waited at the other place for 30 minutes to an hour then they took it out.

It was a piece of Plastic with 4 or 5 sharp edges that was scratching My eye up for 3 hours. They said it was the biggest piece they have ever tooken out of anyones eye. The Odds were that I had Permanent Eye damage and that I would be Blind in my Right eye.

They Told me Afterwards it was Only Temporary But my Eye was really scratched up. Having that thing in my eye was Excruicating Pain.

I am Very Unlucky but Yet I am Very Lucky at the Same time.

You should have just let your friend break the calculator.

Well yeah, But it wasn't mine and when things aren't yours you gotta pay money to replace them. Besides Like I said the Odds of that happening were very, very small.

Jeez, man I shake up when I hear stuff happening to the eyes. I don't think I could handle it without destroying myself in some way. Man I hate to say something stupid like "that must have been tough or vicious," there probably aren't words to describe what happened to you.

But man, thank god you're alright. And good job on bearing with it. It sounded like you kept your sanity throughout that whole time.

Aw, I was expecting a "Blinded by the light" joke...

Being blind sucks. Especially if you have of love of computers.

You're....ok now, right?

Wow that must've hurt.
A friend of mine once had a small peice of metal stuck in his eye, they thought it was pink eye at first ,but found out otherwise later.
hope your eye gets better soon.

PS: In the end I think that you did the right thing as far as not letting your friend break someone else's calculator.(even if it was a teacher.)
