Epic Ladynerd Join Date: Jul 2000 Location: Forteresse de Valois Gender: Posts: 28,504 Thanks: 1,658 Thanked 1,820 Times in 1,042 Posts | Coin collecting I really like foreign coins, and have quite a decent collection going. There are some really exciting coins around at the moment, like the Canadian 25 cents, with a red poppy on it. I'm also a big fan of the standard UK 2 pound coin. I'd really like to get some square coins, or coins with holes in the middle to add to my collection some day. Anyone else interested in coin collecting? (Pssst. If any of you, especially a Canadian with access to a couple of those awesome red poppy quarters I mentioned, wants to send me some cool local money, I'd be all for it. I can send Australian coins back. ![]() PO Box 559 Belmont WA 6984 AUSTRALIA ) |

I think it was after I collected Pokemon cards, but before I collected Homies figurines. I could totally send you a bunch of sweet American pennies if you wanted. :B |

Haven't added to it recently---like, I was big into it back in junior high and high school. Don't have any of the Canadian coins you're after, SD, but if you're looking for coins with holes through the middle or other screwy shapes, maybe we could set up a trade. |

I had actually managed a nice collection of several countries, some even centuries old. Ah, but alas, tragedy struck the day I collected my one hundredth coin. I set it with the rest as I looked for a frame to celebrate this milestone, but when I looked back, all my coins were gone! My heart sank. I looked everywhere, but they were gone. I never saw them again. Incidentally the next day I fell down a manhole and hit solid ground. Should have died, but somehow I was back up top. |

Unfortunetly, I'm missing 2 quarters and I'm starting to doubt if I'll ever get those. <_< I don't even know what I'd do with 'em. Sell it online in 20 years? I don't know. |

The tinkle-y-jingle-y sound they make when shook together and the different pictures they have on them to commemorate different things, events and people are all exciting. Whenever we travel, we try to add new coins. One idea I had was that next time we're in Singapore, we should be changing some money for coins to a country we'll most likely never visit to add to ESSDEE's collection... ![]() |

I don't know if I've got anything you'd like; I'll need to go through and try to properly identify a bunch of them first! I do have a heap of Australian commemorative coins (they put different pictures on the 20c, 50c and $1 coins for all sorts of things). ![]() I really should have asked for my change in the local currency when I went through all the various airports, but most of them work in US dollars for convenience. That is quite a coin, Jere! o_o I think, if you want to send me anything, it had better be a lighter one than that. ![]() |
