So I'm looking back in the Metroid forum, reading the old posts wherein Dai Grepher attempted to prove that Metroid Zero Mission was not a remake of Metroid. Then I happened to see the year, 2005. Wow, was that really seven years ago? |

Maybe I should change my name to "Sir Zack", to be even further downgraded in rank. Then "Goodman Zack" and finally "Dirt Farmer Zack". I've been considering changing my handle for a while, since the moniker "Lord Zack" was a reflection of my pride and foolishness in my youth. Now I'm a whole lot less proud (though still possessed of some amount of hubris I must admit) and slightly less foolish... Anyway I've been Googling "Dai Grepher Metroid" and wow did he visit a lot of sites. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that he's still out there in some corner of the interwebs still trying to convince people of his theory or other similarly ludicrous "facts". That is if he hasn't been banned from every single site that might be remotely related to videogaming. In fact he apparently was so well known that people brought him up in discussions on sites he hadn't been on before. It'd be interesting to go to some random website, offhandedly mention him as part of another post and see if people have heard of him there. |

Back in the day, Shane was not a robot, you got threads about anything going in a matter of minutes, there were more resident crazies to have a laugh, and free alcohol was dispensed whenever you wanted it. There were twice as many forums, and all the cool moderators were still around (but we still have some cool admins and supermods like SD, HOTD, AI, Nomyt, and CaptHayfever.) It's fun to talk about the past, but it's kind of depressing. |
