Are there any good MMORPGS that are free and don't require any downloading?

You either buy.
Or download.
Can't do both/neither.

I suppose you could steal FFXI from someone...That would be free. But it takes eternity -litterally to download.

PLAY MAPLE STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's better than that sucky runescape. Like runescape? Like mmorpg's? Like platforming? Then you'll fall for Maple Story.

I have played MS, (and gotten to level 36 and had 3-4 level 25+ characters) and quit out of extreme boredom and disappointment. MS is extremely repetitive and requires more grinding than any other game I have played.
It has little to no fun factor, the game consists of killing monsters, and in 2-D it's even worse than in 3-D. Sure, the 2-Dness makes for "jump quests" which are challenging and can give a good alternative to grinding, but a lot of players have trouble beating even the first jump quest for some reason. 2-Dness was a good quirk, but overall the game sucked and was disappointing. Even the quests consist of killing enemies and collecting items. Boring.

And grinding isn't the only problem with MS, also, everyone in MS is an ass who wants to steal your kills.
There is an incredible amount of hacking which causes a lot of disruption in the game, (i.e. causing enemies to fly around everywhere) an incredible amount of scamming, an incredible amount of botting, and worst of all the GMs don't give a **** about it at all.
Also, the "fame/defame" feature, in which players can raise or lower the "fame" level of another, sucks, because of mass defaming, because of fame scamming, (lol give me 5k and ill fame u) which is NOT even against the rules, and because it's really a pretty useless feature. Only a few quests (Not even important ones) and a few items (Often useless ones or "dark" versions of clothing which will be 1-2 points higher in some stat than another colored item) require fame.

I would not recommend this game to anyone.

adventurequest, dragonfable,and neopets. they don't require downloading or payment. the 2nd one and 3rd 1 u can get on at any time but sometimes it's hard to get on the 1st 1.PS:the 1st 2 aren't MMO's.
