Dragon Slayer Quest:
Start Point: Guild Master in Champion’s Guild
Requirements: Ability to kill the level 83 dragon Elvarg and 32 quest points (member of Champion’s Guild)
Items Required: 90 Steel Nails, 3 Planks, Hammer, 2,000 Coins, Silk, Lobster Pot, Unfired Bowl and Wizard Mind Bomb, Combat Gear, Silverlight (demons only)
Recommendations It is highly recommended that your character be above level 40 combat as a minimum. At 45 or 50, the quest is more guaranteed. This quest guide was created using a character with Attack and Strength at 41 and Defense at 31. The lower your Defense level, the higher your Attack and Strength levels will need to be because you will have to kill it faster or you will run out of food. It is also highly suggested that you fight Elvarg up close. It has long range fire that can cause damage to mages and archers quickly.

Note: If you do not have level 33 Magic (to cast Telekenetic Grab), you can still complete the quest with an additional 10,000 Coins.

Start:

Talk to the Guild Master in the Champion’s Guild.





Ask about a Rune Plate Mail Body. He will tell you about Oziach who lives in a hut to the west of Edgeville. Travel to the southern edge of Edgeville. Travel west, then north along the outside of the walls of the town. Eventually you will reach Oziach’s hut.





Enter the hut and talk to Oziach.





Ask him if he can sell you some Rune Plate Mail. Continue talking to him and he will tell you to kill Elvarg on the Isle of Crandor. Ask how you will defeat the dragon. He will tell you about the Anti-dragon Shield. Ask where you will find the dragon. He tells you about an old map that was broken into three pieces. Ask him where all of the pieces are. One is in Melzar’s Maze located near Rimmington. He will give you a maze key to enter the maze. Another key is kept by the Oracle on top of Ice Mountain. The third piece was stolen by a goblin. Ask him where you can get the Anti-dragon Shield and he will tell you to go see the Duke in Lumbridge Castle. Go to Lumbridge Castle and go up the stairs to the second floor. Talk to the Duke Horacio in the northern room and ask about the Anti-dragon Shield. He will give you the shield.





Wormbrain:
Travel west to Draynor Village and put your Anti-Dragon Shield and Maze Key in the bank for safe keeping. Take out either 10,000gp, a bow and arrow, or runes for killing Wormbrain. If you are ranging or performing spells to kill Wormbrain, you will need to also bring runes to perform Telekinetic Grab which requires level 33 magic. Travel west to Port Sarim and enter the jail south of the cooking store. Wormbrain the goblin is in the third cell.





To get the map piece, you can do one of two things. One, kill him with ranged or magic and telekinetic grab the map piece. Two, talk to him through the bars and buy the map piece off of him for 10,000gp. After you have the map piece, travel north to Falador and go to the bank. Deposit your map piece for safe keeping.

Melzar's Maze:
While still at the bank, prepare to enter Melzar’s maze. Withdraw your Maze Key. You will need to kill many creatures including a level 82 Lesser Demon. Be sure to bring some armor, a weapon, and plenty of food. Travel southeast to the small town of Rimmington. Just north of Rimmington, there is a field with cabbage and onions on the west side of the path. West of that field is Melzar’s Maze. Use your Maze Key with the door and enter (first floor).





Use the map below to assist you through Melzar’s Maze. On the map, some rooms have dots in them. These dots’ colors correspond with the key used to enter the room.





Inside is a bunch of level 6 Giant Rats. Kill them until you get a Red Key. Use it on the door just south of the one to the most northwest room (red dotted room on map). Go up the ladder. You will be in a room of level 19 Ghosts (second floor). Kill them until you get an Orange Key. Use it on the northeast door (orange dot). Go up the ladder and you will be in a room pull of level 22 Skeletons (third floor). Kill them until you get a Yellow Key. Use it on the most southwest door (yellow dot). Go in and follow the hallway and go down the ladder to the second floor. Go down the other ladder on the second floor to the first floor. Go down the other ladder on the first floor and you will be in a room full of level 25 Zombies (Basement). Kill them until you get a blue key. Go through the only door with a blue line on top of it (blue dot).

Kill the level 43 Melzar the Mad until you get a Magenta Key. During the fight he will say a lot of weird things and he will make cabbages grow. Ignore it. Equip your Silverlight if you have it and go through the only door with a magenta line on top of it (Magenta Dot). Kill the level 82 lesser demon (Silverlight if you don't have a good weapon) and you get a Green Key. Go through the only door with a green line on top (Green Dot) of it and search the chest.





You will find another map piece. Go up the ladder to the first floor. Go out the door and out the entrance to Melzar’s Maze. Return to Falador and go to the bank. Deposit your new Map Piece and Maze key for safe keeping.

Oracle:
Get out some gp (around 100), a pickaxe, and go to the bar in Falador. You will now buy the items you will need to bring to the oracle if you don’t have them already. Buy a Wizard’s Mind Bomb for 2gp. Travel south to Port Sarim and buy a Lobster Pot in the fishing store for 20gp. Now travel east0 all the way to Al Kharid. You may need 10gp to go through the gate if you haven’t completed the Prince Ali Rescue quest yet. Buy 1 piece of silk from the Silk Trader who is just east of the most northern building in Al Kharid.





Travel north to the southeast Varrock mine and mine a lump of clay. Go to the Varrock General store and buy a jug for 1gp. Go northeast and fill it in the fountain. Use the jug of water with the clay and you will get soft clay. Head east to the Barbarian Village. Enter the southeast building and use the soft clay with the Potter’s Wheel. Make a bowl, but do not fire it. Now head northwest to Ice Mountain. At the top of the mountain, to the north, there is an Oracle. Talk to it.





Tell it that you seek a map piece. It tells you that the map piece is behind a door below (Dwarven Mines). He gives you clues for the four things you have to have in your inventory when you enter. These four items are the Wizard’s Mind Bomb, Silk, Lobster Pot, and Unfired Bowl. Go into the Dwarven Mines and travel south for a while. Go east at the mine cart intersection. A path breaks off on this tunnel to the northeast. This is the door you need to open. Enter the room, open and search the chest, and you will find your third and final map piece.





Return to Falador and go to a bank. Withdraw all three map pieces and use one with another. You will place all three pieces together to form the entire map. Deposit your map.

Klarense:
Withdraw your three planks, 90 Steel Nails, a hammer, and 2,000gp from the bank (if you have them yet). Planks can be found in the level 19 Wilderness north of Varrock or north of the Barbarian Outpost (members only). Nails can be forged out of steel bars at level 34 (33 with Dwarven Stout) Smithing. Head south to Port Sarim and go to the most southeast part of the docks. Find and talk to Klarense.





Ask if you can buy the boat from him. Buy it for 2,000gp. Talk to him again and ask what needs to be fixed. He’ll tell you about the hole. Board the ship and go down the ladder.





Use all three planks with the hole and you will patch it up with the 90 nails. Your ship is fixed. It is nearing the time for you to embark on your journey to Crandor. Go north to Falador and take the map out of your bank. Travel south then east to Draynor Village and talk to Ned. He can be found in the house just south of the house where you start the Vampire Slayer quest. Talk to him.





Ask him about taking you to Crandor Isle. Give him your map and he says he will meet you at your ship.

Elvarg The Dragon:
Now is the time to prepare for your voyage to Crandor Isle. Go back to Falador and open up your bank. Take out your armor, weapon (not a two-handed weapon), your Anti-dragon Shield, and lots of food (lobsters or swordfish will help a great deal). Head south to your boat docked in Port Sarim. Board the boat, go down the ladder and talk to Ned.





Tell him you are ready to go and he will take you to Crandor. You will crash up on some rocks.





Leave the ship and travel to the middle of the island where the dungeon symbol is on your map. On your way there, you will level 22 Skeletons, level 32 King Scorpions, level 28 Hobgoblins, and level 82 Lesser Demons. It is suggested that you refrain from running until you reach the Lesser Demons.





Go down into the rock opening and run south down the path for a very short while. There will be a large room with a gate to enter it on the east side. Inside is Elvarg the Dragon. Take a deep breath and enter. MAKE SURE ARE WEARING YOUR ANTI-DRAGON SHIELD! If you are not, you will be a nice snack for the green one. Attack Elvarg.





Be sure to eat a lobster or swordfish once your hits go about 14 below normal. Elvarg can hit big numbers multiple times in a row, so eating is necessary. The battle may be long, but you will eventually wear the beast down to its death. Once you slay Elvarg, you complete the quest.





After you defeat Elvarg, you will be teleported out of the room. Continue south down the cave, past the lesser demons, and you will reach a wall. Open the wall.





You will push yourself through the wall and you will enter the Karamja Volcano. Exit the volcano by climbing the rope to the east and head to Oziach to buy your Rune Plate!

Rewards: 2 Quest Points, ability to wear Rune Platebody and Dragonhide Bodies, ability to purchase Rune Platebody and Green Dragonhide Body from Oziach, 18,650 Strength XP, and 18,650 Defense XP.

Oziach's Shop:
Rune Platebody: 84,500 Coins
Green Dragonhide body: 10,400 Coins

My parents grounded me from being a member.
So My mom canceled it.
But she will pay it again in Jan.

I never keep my armor on unless I'm going fighting or questing.

In case you wonder, I use full rune with Legend's Cape and Gnome Amulet. I also wear Ring of Charos (unlocked) at all times. My main weapon is a Dragon Longsword.
