Anyone seen previews to this? Looks pretty freaky (Asian kid meowing), but it'a only PG-13, so that might be its downfall. Any thoughts?

It doesn't need an R rating to be any scarier. If they cut down the Exorsist to a PG-13 rating, it would certainly decrease in SHOCK value, but all the genuinely creepy parts would be retained.

Yeah.. This movie looks awesome.. It'll probably suck, though. I try never to get my hopes up too much.

The little asian kid meowing isn't scary; it's hilariously retarded.

I think it's fingers, but I got freaked when the little girl dragged herself down the stairs. The little kid meowing is just...weird...

^ The ring actually had a semi decent plot, I don't think this ones aiming for integrity so much as fear-factor

I saw this on Saturday. It was really scary, in my opinion. I'm surprised it WASN'T rated R.

Some jumpy moments, but overall it wasn't scary.... It was actually pretty funny how the audience screamed everytime something happened. And the mewoing kid was hilarious...

I take it all back. I saw it tonight and that was some freaky ****. I'd crawl in bed, but not even that's safe anymore...

Saw it today.

... wow. I'll go ahead and say, most of the 'scary' bits were the usual "supsenseful music, sudden face out of nowhere, loud noise plays". However, I'm very jumpy with horror films, so it scared me.

Of course, there were also times I looked away from the screen, being the wuss I am.

It was annoying whenever the crowd SCREAMED whenever Kaeoko's (( The Japanese lady who's the mother of Toshio. )) face popped up.
I would suggest watching the Japanese version,Ju On. In my opinion,it's LOADS better.

As a matter of fact the bit I saw where the girl crawled down the stairs was a little reminiscent of the Ring.

Y'know, the bit where the girl crawls out of the television.

Not that I've ever seen The Ring before...just previews

I saw it and loved it, but I must say Ju-On was better. Im a big fan of Japanese Horror Films, and I also suggest Battle Royale, Audition, Dark Water, and The Eye.

And guess what? America is remaking The Eye and Dark Water, just like The Ring and The Grudge. They are due out next year. -_- I hope they dont ruin them...and they better not touch Battle Royale...

But hey, Japanese people know what they're doing when it comes to Horror Movies as well. <Horror Movie Fanatic>
