Forget about what the critics say. These are each of your personal favourites. Here's mine (in decending order): 10. Troy While Alexander sucked, Troy was not that bad. As a result, it barely makes my Top 10. 9. The Manchurian Candidate You know what? I really enjoyed this movie. It's a very suspenseful thriller. I never saw the original (and probably never will), so I'm not going to go into comparisons. Plus, Liev Schreiber (of Scream fame) finally gets a starring role (after many supporting roles). 8. Fahrenheit 9/11 I original didn't want to see this in theatres (I saw it because I was right by a theatre and it was about to start). However, I really enjoyed it. Whether or not Michael Moore's views are right or wrong, it's still very entertaining (for a documentary). 7. Spider-Man 2 Definitely the only superhero movie of the year worth watching. Much better story than the orignal, and it leaves me waiting for more. 6. The Aviator It's high up on the Oscar race this year, and it deserves to be. You should re-read my review topic for more on how I liked the movie. 5. Million Dollar Baby I just saw this movie today and it's on my Top 10 list. That's shows how good it was. Like The Aviator, you should check out my review topic for more info. 4. The Passion of the Christ In a controversy free world, this movie will be high in the Oscar race. However, because there are people who want any Bible-based movies to be PG-rated and people who call the movie anti-Semitic (I'm a Church-going Catholic and I can say there's nothing in the movie that's not already in the Bible), this movie's chance for any Oscar nominations are slim to none. Pity really. 3. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind I HATE romantic comedies. However, I like them when they are not your usually Romantic comedies (as is in the case for my Top 3). This movie would be #1, if the Top 2 movies weren't released. This movie takes the premise for the romantic comedy, and literally turns it upside down. This movie is a unusual as they get, but it's still good. 2. Garden State I just bought the DVD for this today. This is the romantic comedy for people, like me, currently in their quarter-Life crisis. Imagine that you're in your 20s, your life sucks, and then your mom dies. Well, that's how this movie starts and then it develops from their with Zach Braff rediscovering himself and stuff. This is the movie where Natalie Portman really became more than Padme from Star Wars. 1. Shaun of the Dead Shaun of the Dead came from nowhere to become by favourite film of 2004. I first heard of this movie of Ain't It Cool News. Actually, I just saw the title in an artile heading and thought "What's that?" It wasn't until I saw the trailer when I became truly interested. Well, I saw the movie and it was one of the funniest (and goriest) movies I ever saw. Too bad there probably won't be anymore Romantic Zombie Comedies. |

Oh well. 10. Dodgeball 9. Walking Tall 8. Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle 7. Team America: World Police 6. Anchorman 5. Chronicles of Riddick 4. The Ladykillers 3. Hero 2. Shaun of the Dead 1. Kill Bill vol. 2 Bear in mind that I haven't seen 'Life Aquatic' yet; I fully expect that to blow at least half my list clear out of the water. __________________ Boo--the only dude bad enough to rescue the president |
