Alone in the Dark, THE MOVIE.

So.. Opinions? I think it'll be just like every other movie based off a video game. It'll be a half way decent movie, but a HORRIBLE take on the games.

Hm.

Sweet Home is supposed to be based on a movie, although it's truely unknown which is based on which.

Resident Evil had a couple of movies. Everyone hated them, but they're still there.

Now this.

All we need is Silent Hill, and we're set.

*smacks forehead*

How in the hell did I forget Eternal Darkness?

EDIT: Found some stuff. Okay, this one did indeed have plans for a movie that were scrapped (at least so far), so I guess it counts.

Looks like some pretty week ties to the series. Although, they might have made a decent movie. My memories of the series are a bit different than what that preview depicts... creepy old houses, and kidnappings.. I mean, the 'mysterious death brought him here' thing is the vague basis for the first game. But that starts with you getting trapped in the attic of an old manor because you were looking for a will.

'Alone in the Dark' is going to be directed by Uwe Boll, the megatalent that brought us 'House of the Dead'. If that doesn't allay any worries you might have, I don't know what would.

Why must horror movies must always have the sh*ttiest names? And the horror-game-made-movie bullsh*t is getting old fast. Uwe sucks when it comes to game movies.

Personally I think Uwe is just an asstard. There should be a "kick-in-the-face-machine-for-bad-ideas" product. Sold to morons everywhere!

Still a little closer to reality than when she was featured topless in Playboy.

Hahah! Bloodrayne. That game was so bad. Not expecting anything less in the movie.

Instead of coming up with their own ideas, companies have found something new to cash in on. Even if the movies suck, they sell well enough to profit on just because of what they're based on. Disgusting.

10 bucks says the actor playing Blood Rayne would just be a piss-poor actor that wears yet another skimpy outfit. It'll turn out to be another Catwoman.-_-;

It's going to be a waste of another $10-$20.

The Bloodrayne movie was announced quite a while ago; I'm surprised you guys hadn't heard about it. I haven't even seen the game.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Not necessarily. 'House of the Dead', for example, was a massive failure--around $2-3 million gross, as I recall, in comparison to around $17 million for production, distribution, and advertising.

Yes, but there wasn't much of a fanbase to start with on that one, now was there?
