I just read today that Paramount plans to make the May 13 season finale into the series finale and they have no immediete plans to make to a new Star Trek show (though they did say there will be one....eventually).

Personally I'm both sad and glad about this. I'm sad because I am a bit of a Trekkie and, for the first time in 18 years, there will be no more Star Trek.

However, I'm glad because, quite frankly, I never caught on with Enterprise. I watched the show for about 2 months before I stopped watching. While seeing the origins of Starfleet was interesting, there are some things I didn't understand (who's bright idea was it to make a Vulcan sex symbol?)

With the cancellation of the show, this would be the last time we hear of Star Trek until, at least, 2007 when they plan on releasing a new prequel movie, which, based on what I've read, tells how the Romulans became a threat.

Edit: I just realized that the series finale is on a Friday the 13th (how appropriate). Also I don't know the new movie will remain greenlit, after this cancellation announcment.

I watched the pilot; that was all I needed to see.

Ehh, the only things I've ever given a rat's rear about on UPN were Buffy & Veronica Mars.
I like Scott Bakula, but I'm no Trekkie.

And remember, "I'm-a Sam, oh boy!"

I too love Star Trek. However, Enterprise did not seem too good. Didn't watch much of that.

Still, does this mean they're also going to stop making movies? Because if you've seen the ending of the last one...well, I won't spoil it for you.

Eh, I have only seen one Star Trek episode, and it was from a tape my mother bought me. It was...

THE TROUBLE WITH TRIBBLES!

...I loved it, though. They purred and squeaked and Kirk sat one one

Where are these lemmings going? The Super Nintendo Super Shire! Hop in line and follow them there!

I liked the original series best. There was just something special and insane about it.

^ Yeah, Galaxy Quest is a very funny Star Trek satire

Quote:
Guy Fleegman: I changed my mind. I wanna go back.
Sir Alexander Dane: After the fuss you made about getting left behind?
Guy Fleegman: Yeah, but that's when I thought I was the crewman that stays on the ship, and something is up there, and it kills me. But now I'm thinking I'm the guy who gets killed by some monster five minutes after we land on the planet.
Jason Nesmith: You're not gonna die on the planet, Guy.
Guy Fleegman: I'm not? Then what's my last name?
Jason Nesmith: It's, uh, uh - -I don't know.
Guy Fleegman: Nobody knows. Do you know why? Because my character isn't important enough for a last name, because I'm gonna die five minutes in.
Gwen DeMarco: Guy, you have a last name.
Guy Fleegman: DO I? DO I? For all you know, I'm "Crewman Number Six".
