Beautfiul sceneries, but the characters and the story didn't grab me. All the jabbering about God and religion didn't help either. It tried so hard to be politically correct in these times. Still, I enjoyed it. And I just love Jeremy Irons' voice. |

It was good that it didn't make either side all evil, but that made it hard for us to sympathize with one side if we don't want either to lose. Oh, and isn't it hilarious how Balian is possibly the toughest onscreen Frenchmen in decades, and at the end, he surrenders? Kind of telling of the French people as a whole, ne? |

Speaking of which, I don't know if it's still greenlit, but there is a semi-sequel to Gladiator (I say semi-sequel since, even though there would be some of the same characters, it won't involve Gladiators) in the works which will tell the story of Roman politics, senators, generals and praetorian guards. |
