A hot, hot film. Very toight. David Thewlis and Liam Neeson are excellent. Anyone else see it?

Yeah, I really enjoyed it. Was surprised about how many bad reviews it got.

Also heard that when it's released on DVD, it's going to be a much longer version. That'll be interesting.

I've seen it too. It was ok, nothing special in my opinion. Beautfiul sceneries, but the characters and the story didn't grab me. All the jabbering about God and religion didn't help either. It tried so hard to be politically correct in these times.

Still, I enjoyed it. And I just love Jeremy Irons' voice.

Very nice. It was good that it didn't make either side all evil, but that made it hard for us to sympathize with one side if we don't want either to lose.

Oh, and isn't it hilarious how Balian is possibly the toughest onscreen Frenchmen in decades, and at the end, he surrenders? Kind of telling of the French people as a whole, ne?

It was kind of mediocre. I liked the realism a bit, but I didn't like the main character, and didn't really think the action scenes were that interesting.

I'd rate it a 5/10.

This film was alright. It was definitely no Gladiator.

Speaking of which, I don't know if it's still greenlit, but there is a semi-sequel to Gladiator (I say semi-sequel since, even though there would be some of the same characters, it won't involve Gladiators) in the works which will tell the story of Roman politics, senators, generals and praetorian guards.
