Paul Giamatti was very good, and would be a crime if doesn't get a supporting actor nod at the Oscars. I would also like to point out that this film was filmed last year, right here in my hometown of Toronto. I remember walking along Yonge St. (the main street downtown) and I turned my head and was surprised to see Madison Square Garden (the set was built on the side of the Hudson's Bay Company department store). Based on what I saw in the movie, they also took advantage of the TTC streetcar tracks right by the store. |

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

The nickname was given to Braddock because he went from being totally down on his luck with no money to being a heavyweight contender. The thing was, all Braddock really cared about was providing for his family. |
