I've only seen two movies that were released this year. They were Revenge of the Sith which I thought was mediocre at best, and March of the Penguins which I liked but wouldn't go around recommending everybody go see (I'm a huge fan of penguins, so it scores brownie points there).

I think the best movie I saw this year from any year was The Matrix.

Where are these lemmings going? The Super Nintendo Super Shire! Hop in line and follow them there!

Best that I saw: The Producers and The Brothers Grimm

Also good: Robots

Should've been better: The Game of Their Lives and Goblet of Fire

Only good by comparison to its siblings: Revenge of the Sith

Didn't get to see yet: Proof, Rent, Corpse Bride, Serenity, Batman Begins, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, Sin City

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Ones that immediately come to mind: King Kong, Sin City, Batman Begins, Revenge of the Sith.

I will now read the other posts to see which ones I forgot.

EDIT: forgot about the Tim Burton films: Charlie & The Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride, which I both really liked.

^ Saw Munich today actually. Even though I liked it, I don't think it would have made my list (it would have been if my list was the top 20, or even 15, films of 2005).

You know, I never think I see that many movies in the theatre, and then the end of the year rolls around and I tally up.

SWELL--'Sin City', 'Brothers Grimm', 'Serenity', 'Batman Begins', 'Kung-Fu Hustle', 'Great Raid', 'Steamboy', 'Wedding Crashers'

EHHH--'Kingdom of Heaven', 'Dukes of Hazzard', 'Corpse Bride'

CRAP--'War of the Worlds', 'Fantastic Four', 'Constantine', 'Star Wars Ep. III'

I missed a quite a few movies I wanted to see (most notably 'The Weatherman' and 'Transporter 2'); but, on the other hand, I wasn't coerced into seeing the new Harry Potter this year, so I guess everything sort of evened out.
