Jurassic Park IV and Indiana Jones 4

According to Crave Online, Development Hell reports that director Steven Spielberg just participated in a Q&A at the University of Southern California where he gave updates on both Jurassic Park IV and Indiana Jones 4.

Already knew about Indiana Jones, but ANOTHER Jurassic Park?

After the last one pretty much sucked?

I remember when the first JP was out someone told me there were going to be at least 3 sequels. I didn't believe him, but apparantly he was right. I didn't even like The Lost World that much, and JPIII was awful. I take it Spielberg is not going to direct this one?

Well he did produce the third. And yes, the third smelt of something aweful. The Lost World was alright, should of stuck more to the book and if they did that, we wouldn't be here right now discussing this. It would of been far over by now. Seriously though, what else can they cover? Jurassic Park has died.

Thank you,
Alltaia

Indy IV is bordering on one of those "never got out of preproduction" things. Plus, with Lucas' recent track records, I'm afraid.

Jurassic Park IV will sell to the same mouthbreathing droolers that went to see Jurassic Park III.

I personally loved all of the previous movies, but that's just me. Maybe it's because I'm such a dinosaur expert. I thouroghly hope that JPIV is as enjoyable as the first three.
This is Parasaurolophus Man signing out.

You liked JP because you are a dinosaur expert?

I'm by no means an expert, but I read a lot about dinosaurs when I was a kid and I was very aware of the innacuracies, and that most of it was speculation. The biggest innacuraccy is of course the size of the Velociraptor (why they insisted on making it a Velociraptor when they could've gone with Deinonychus, which resembles Velociraptor, and is much closer to the height of the creatures in the movie).

Aside from colour and sounds (which can only be guessed) there were a lot of things that were speculated:
- the Iguana frill and the poision of the dilophosaurus
- the intelligence, and co-operative skills of the velociraptor
- the hunting abilities of the T-rex.
- more I can't think of right now

Despite all this, I really enjoyed the first movie (I even own it on DVD). The 2nd one was not nearly as good, especially when they went Godzilla at the end. The 3rd was very poor. I saw the beginning of it a while ago, and how they got Grant back on the island was ridiculous. I also thought it was incredibly stupid that they spend two films building up the T-Rex as the most dangerous animal that ever lived and then suddenly claim the Spinosaurus is even bigger (it wasn't) and more dangerous (not likely).

It....it has the potential to be good! It will be good! It HAS TO BE!

*runs off sobbing*

When I was very young, I knew more about dinosaurs than anyone else in the history of the universe. Or thought I did. I was so pissed off that they had the T-Rex offed by a dinosaur less than half its apparent weight I thought I was going to freaking explode.

When did they do that? And likewise, Cam. I could have been a university professor 10 years ago. Now I can't even pronounce the names anymore./

The Spinosaurus in JPIII killed the T-Rex. That's what I meant by

I'm one of those people that enjoy almost any movie (Codenamed EPG, for Easily Pleased Guy) unless it's incredibly stupid... like Princess Diaries.

I don't like the Jurassic Park series for the accuracy, of which there is little. I most certainly hope IV is more accurate.

The list of inaccuracies goes on and on. But I'll summarize it in laymen's terms:

Velociraptor: Too large, too smart, too fast, and lacks feathers
Brachiosaurus: Neck too high (It'd get brain damage at any higher than a 20 degree angle)
Parasaurolophus: None
Triceratops: None
Metriacanthosaurus: None (Of course all you see of it is it's name on the embryo)
Tyrannosaurus: Lacks feathers
Dilophosaurus: Way, way too small, and what the hell is with the frilled lizard frill?
Gallimimus: None, unless ornithomimosaurs had feathers
Compsognathus: Too fierce, lacks feathers
Stegosaurus: None
Pachycephalosaurus: Too small
Mamenchisaurus: See Brachiosaurus
Pteranodon: Too strong and too fierce
Corythosaurus: None
Spinosaurus: Too strong
Ankylosaurus: None
Ceratosaurus: None

Actually we don't know the Tyrannosaurus had feathers - we do know it probably didn't have movement-based eyesight, and probably had an olfactory sense that would've let it find you even if it was half-blind.

I have always HATED the Jurassic Park series. Maybe thats because the first time I saw it I was around 5 or so. It scared the piss outta me. I could care less about JP 4. I'm more interested in seeing what happens to that Indiana Jones 4 idea. I love those movies.
