I was watching a tv show with 'horrible crashes' once and it occurred to me that they were not so terrible, but the music and the voice over made it seem much more severe. In fact, I think the exact same videos, if a funny tune and some goofy sound effects were added, could be used for a funniest home video show.

Kind of old hat. I remember a fan-preview of The Shining which made it seem like a heartwarming tale between a father and son.
