A Scanner Darkly

I went to see this film last night.

It's weird as hell, but I actually quite liked it (though I can say now this is probably a movie that will polarize people)

Quick thoughts on the main actors:
Keanu Reeves - Keanu Reeves
Winona Ryder - Comeback
Robert Downey Jr. - Scene Stealer
Woody Harrelson - Comic Relief

Fantastic movie. I'll probably see it again very soon. Very strange, great plot.

Note - the constant shifting digital effects made me unused to standard visual perception, and I just felt a bit like I was drunk after the movie.

Sounds interesting. I hadn't heard of this one before.

^ This is a film directed by Richard Linklater (Dazed and Confused, Before Sunrise, School of Rock) based on the novel by Philip K. Dick about a world in the near-future that has seemed to have lost the war on drugs.

It is notable for the fact that it was made using rotoscoping (that is, it was first filmed in live action then animated over). This allowed for some weird visuals that would have been next to impossible for a live-action film (or at the very least, would have required a whole lot of CGI).
