It's just that I am now officially a film major at York University in Toronto. My studies will concentrate of on film theory, history, and criticism. As such, hopefully in the future I will know what I am talking about. In addition, tommorow I am going to register to volunteer at the Toronto International Film Festival. In the three previous years I have been to the film festival as an attendee, so it will be interesting how my volunteer experience will go. |

Is it just like technical stuff, or is it profs trying to tell you what you can & can't do in a movie based on their own preferences? And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

It also encompasses the overall structure of the movie, ranging from the script to how its presented on the screen. It goes beyond just personal prefrences, although the overall study of film is rooted in that. You start off looking at the barebones of how to make and analyize a film, particularly at shot selection, angles, lighting, etc. Its interesting, albeit pretencious.
