I think you also added some to that list, CSM. V for Vendetta was released in 2006 over here, but I didn't know when it was released over there, so that's why I looked up the year ar IMDb. If it's 2006 add it to the list of movies I liked. |

As any good movie critic would say, the good films are not in the mainstream blockbusters, but in art house cinema. (though personally, I think some mainstream films are good too) Films that I really enjoyed this year (both art house and mainstream) include Brick, The Da Vinci Code, An Inconvenient Truth, Superman Returns, A Scanner Darkly, Clerks II, World Trade Centre and Snakes on a Plane |

Arthouse films can be just as good and just as crappy as mainstream films, it's just that only the good art house films get attention, whereas all mainstream films do. I think CaptHayfever said it best when he described what movies he liked: good ones. |

| Her Hitler hairdo is making me feel ill | I thought that Superman Returns could've been better. Dead Man's Chest would be better if it ENDED. X-Men 3 could've been better. I thought that Little Miss Sunshine was decent. Barnyard just flat out sucked. Ricky Bobby had its moments. My dad said that most of the Da Vinci Code was in French, and I don't like subtitles. Phat Girlz I didn't even bother with. ATL was decent. Benchwarmers was good for the Sandler/Schnieder/Heder fans everywhere. I thought that Cars was great. V and SoaP were my favorites of the year so far. I'm waiting to see some of the movies this fall, they look awesome. Except for Charlotte's Web, that looks creepy with Dakota Fanning. Oh, and how could we forget Casino Royale coming out later this year. |

| Timelord. | Dead Man's Chest, X-Men 3 was okay. Not sure if Jackass 2 is coming out this year. |

| The Man Who Sold the World | ^ Already came out here. It beat out Fearless for the #1 spot because I didn't get a chance to see [Fearless]. |

'Fearless' is more of your 'character-study with wire-fu' affair, like 'Crouching Tiger' and 'Hero'; 'Protector' is your standard psychotic stunt-fu one-man-beats-the-crap-out-of-everybody-in-the-world actioner, akin to Jackie Chan's earlier films. The former is better made, the latter is more entertaining. I recommend them both highly. __________________ Boo--the only dude bad enough to rescue the president |

| The Man Who Sold the World | ^ I'm a big fan of Jet Li, so I've been waiting on that Fearless for a while. Haven't seen any Tony Jaa flicks, but I've heard really good things about Ong Bak. The Protector looks awesome, just the places they filmed it in that I saw on the commercials looked very ideal for a modern martial arts movie to take places. It's a shame that Sha Po Lang (Killzone in the U.S.) never made it to theaters over here. |

This year is nothing like my junior high years when I'd go see a movie every friday with some friends. |

| The Man Who Sold the World | Saw Fearless. Any movie year with Fearless cannot be the "Worst. Movie Year. Ever." It was even better than I thought it would be. The only problem was the MTV-style rapid editing during the fights. |

| The Man Who Sold the World | Plus the rerelease of "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" in America (even though it was released in Korea in 2005)... ... ... but I saw the Korean-uncut version so I have no clue if anything major was cut in the American rehack. |
