| Condescending Film Jerk | "I love food?" - Wong Fei Hung, Once Upon a Time in China III "Silly caucasion girl likes to play with samurai swords." - O-Ren Ishii, Kill Bill "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee." - Jules, Pulp Fiction Scarface. The whole movie. "You're not a bad person. You're a terrific person. You're my favorite person, but sometimes you can be a real $@%!." - Bill, Kill Bill "Playing with my money is like playing with my emotions" - Big Worm, Friday "Wudan is a whore house!" - Yu Jen, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon |

Anybody who holds Sam Jackson's character in Pulp Fiction as the most terrifying man ever put to celluloid has not watched this film. This scene in particular is gut-wrenching just for the sheer terror Pesci can inspire by asking a question.

Okay, maybe he's not as terrifying as Joe Pesci's character, but still more badass.

SPOILER WARNING . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Pesci kills Jackson in the movie. What the hell more do you want? he's the craziest, scariest, most killingest bastard in the movie industry. And in fairness I said scary, not bad-ass. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . SPOILER OVER Regardless, still the most effective moment in cinema history. I will not back down. Edit: I take that back, it's arguable that the last scene in Unforgiven may be better. |

Check out 'The Shining'--the sequence where Jack flips out (between Wendy reading his 'book' and clobbering him with the bat) is among the scariest performances I've seen (right up there with Christopher Lee as Dracula). My favourite movie line is, predictably enough, from the end of 'Jedi', where Luke says to Vader, "I have to save you," and Vader says back, "You already have." It's perfect. __________________ Boo--the only dude bad enough to rescue the president |

| Condescending Film Jerk | I still haven't seen The Shining but they're showing it downstairs on Halloween, and I'm definitely gonna check it out. |
