Me: Self-proclaimed Bond movie hater.

I loved Casino Royale. Daniel Craig is a fantastic actor, and the story actually had a plot and witty dialogue.

I just got back from watching this movie. I kind of missed the classic Bond intro (was I the only one who noticed there were no women during the theme?), but I've seen it a million times, so it doesn't matter. The movie overall was very enjoyable (it's Bond), but nothing truly deep or worthy of my favorites list (it's Bond).

This is incorrect. There were a few pictures of Vesper, but she wasn't naked. And I'm fine with that, because I frankly find the whole naked women dancing during Bond intros to be stupid.

I just saw it and that movie was EXCELLENT!! Daniel Craig is a freaking good Bond! The people who hate him for being the new Bond suck.

I actually enjoyed this one a lot. Especially after the rampant suck factory that was 'Die Another Day'. I'd actually feel comfortable putting it in my top five (along with 'Living Daylights', 'You Only Live Twice', 'Octopussy', and 'Goldeneye').

Interesting question I just thought of--who's your favourite Bond? Mine was Timothy Dalton--grittier than Connery, less goofy than Moore, and a better actor than Brosnan.

(EDIT: Stupid censor. Or rather, stupid me for forgetting to evade the censor.)

Before Daniel Craig, the only Bonds in which I saw a complete movie were Sean Connery (3 -- 2 official) and Pierce Brosnan (all). I think I also saw the beginnings of a couple Roger Moore films and one Timophy Dalton film.

I grew up with the Brosnan films (I was 13 when GoldenEye came out), so he's the one I relate to the most. Of the classic Bonds, I would have to say Connery.

I'd rank them:

1. Connery
2. Brosnan
3. Dalton
4. Moore
5. Lazenby

I'm predicting Daniel Craig will either take the two spot from Brosnan or slide into three comfortably.

What I like about Craig is he has that gritty, unpolished feel about him (appropriate, since Casino Royale is supposed to be the first Bond book in the series). He makes the character more realistic.

I don't know if I'd put Lazenby below Moore. Lazenby had one mediocre Bond film; Moore had four awful ones, one mediocre one, and only two that I'd consider worthwhile ('Octopussy' and 'For Your Eyes Only'). Not to say Lazenby was any good, but at least he wasn't associated with 'Live and Let Die' or 'Moonraker'.

I put Lazenby last because I never saw his movie and dont know if its good or bad.And believe it or not I thought Roger Moore was pretty good.At least in the movies I saw with him.

But really, I thought he brought a bit more character to the character, so to speak. They emphasized Bond being more human, rather than a quick-shooting, honey-loving action machine. I suppose they were looking to delve into a different side of Bond, as demonstrated by the lack of the usual cliches, ie. outrageous gadgets, martinis shaken. Someone told me that this Bond was intended to be closer to the book version, or something.

Did anyone else notice the absence of a Q? Or Moneypenny?

Actually, I didn't mind missing the latter so much, come to think of it...

Good point. I mostly put Moore above Lazenby because my cousin (who thinks Roger Moore is the best

) decapitates me if I don't. Since he's not around...
