Thumbs up Ghost Rider

Ghost Rider is definitely one the lesser known characters in the Marvel Universe. Heck, I only really recognized the villain, Mephistopheles, purely from his inclusion in an old NES Surfer Surfer game.

Still, I would have to say that Ghost Rider is one of most enjoyable of the Marvel comic movies. In my opinion, it tries to be nothing but a fun Superhero movie.

Sure, some other movies like Spider-Man and X-Men have better stories, but for pure glee, Ghost Rider was good enough for me.

My Ratings:
IMDb: 8 out of 10
Yahoo Movies: B+ (Memorable)

Best movie I've seen since V For Vendetta. The story, the allusions, the everything! The fight scenes could have been better, though. I don't really think Eva Mendes could actually blow a demon's, (let alone the son of Mephistopheles), head off. They made GR seem like an average strongman instead of a superheroic hell-fire infested thing. He fought better in the comics, but, you give or take a bit. Eh, It was great. A+.

^ Yeah, it would have been a good game if it wasn't IMPOSSIBLE to play without the invincibity code.

Thought I would list a few differences between the comics and movie that I got from wikipedia:

Spoiler Below
  • First an obvious one. Mephistopheles is nearly always just called "Mephisto" in the comics and he has a much more demonic look than in the movie.
  • Blackheart is a lizard-like demon in the comics. Though, to be fair, when he becomes "Legion" at the end, the look is much closer to the comic version.
  • Carter Slade's Ghost Rider, was not a "flaming skull" version. Instead he just wore a white hood (actually, everything he wore was white.). The character was actually renamed to "Phantom Rider" after the creation of the "flaming skull" Ghost Rider.
  • The "Penance Stare" debuted with the second Ghost Rider (Daniel Ketch) and was only recently used by Johnny Blaze.

I think the movie was playing on that. Remember when he was circling Johnny in the beginning? His shadow?

Unless that demon saw Training Day and was having flashbacks.

I actually bought a ticket to this last night, yet we went into the 300 theater since we figure that movie was a whole lot better. Glad I saw 300 instead as it's the most badass movie I've ever seen.

You should have at least taken the time to exchange your ticket.

If it was a sold out screening, there would have been a few people quite angry at you.

I couldnt. I was the right age, but 2 of the friends I was with were underage, so they weren't actually allowed in the movie. Yes, we broke the law.

No, you broke the theater rule. MPAA ratings are not legally binding.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

He's not saying he bought tickets for underage people - he's saying he bought tickets to another movie and then sneaked into 300.
