Exactly what I was thinking. Really pissed me off. I pretty much LOVE Ellen. So much. That whole Clint Eastwood, Steven Spielburg "picture for myspace" was pure gold.

I think Dreamgirls may have been snubbed as badly as it was because of how badly the studio was whoring it out as "TEH OSCAR FRUNTRANNER!!11" for like 8 months. Ellen was a good host, especially considering how bad some of the more recent hosts have been.

I haven't seen Dreamgirls, but from what I've heard (most recently from my film professor) it was a bit on the cheesy side. I heard that Beyonce's acting was actually quite improved in this film... but considering how abysmal her acting was beforehand, it's not hard to improve upon.

Personally, I'm glad Dreamgirls didn't get a best picture nomination, because it prevented a repeat of the Oscar moment that annoyed me the most: The announcement that Chicago was apparently better than Gangs of New York, The Hours, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, AND The Pianist. Biggest surprise for me this year was Pan's Labyrinth winning pretty much every award EXCEPT Best Foreign Film
