Okay, they can stop making guy movies now. There's no need for any more. This is the one - everything that came before it is hereby obsolete.

And yeah, it was actually good.

This movie kicked so much ass that my eyes melted.

I plan on seeing it tonight.

I was wanting to see it in IMAX, but the only available screenings were in a theatre in Woodbridge (a town just north of Toronto) and I (or my cousin, who I'm going with), don't have access to a car (actually my cousin doesn't have access, I don't drive period)

This movie literally made up for everything that was wrong with Alexander and Troy. BAM!

I read the Graphic Novel. I heard that it was actually used as a storyboard for the movie.

Based on my own experience reading said graphic novel and seeing the movie...yeah, I can believe that, at least the parts of the movie that the novel covers.

I saw it yesterday. It was good, but not totally awesome. I liked Sin City a lot better (though I don't know whether you should compare them only because they're both based on Frank Miller graphic novels).

It was much better than Troy and Kingdom of Heaven, though. I didn't even bother to watch Alexander.

The uncut version of Kingdom of Heaven - which I have on DVD but have yet to watch - is supposed to be like an entirely different movie, something worthy of the Ridley Scott moniker. I'll withhold judgment until I've watched it.

But yeah - Sin City is the only movie that begins to compare to 300 in terms of manliness, and even it loses.

How can something with that much CGI be considered manly at all?

I'll judge for myself when I see it. But right now I'm guessing none of you have seen a little movie called Hard Boiled.

Eh. It was alright. Seemed like Troy (which I liked) with less of a plot.

I demand you people provide me with the 20 dollars it will take for me to get to see this movie. And yes, I added a little extra in for popcorn.

Actually, I heard this movie was freakin' EXCELLENT. Was it close to the actual true story, or did it slip from that?

It was ok. My boyfriend really liked it, as did the guy we went to see it with.
Hehe, when we left, the people sitting next to us asked me "Did they really have orcs back then?

For people going on about whether or not it's historically accurate:
IT'S BASED ON A FRIGGIN' COMIC BOOK!!!!

If you want a more historical version, go see The 300 Spartans

I checked out 300 after getting some free tickets to see it with Alexander, truthfully didn't know much about it, so it hit me like a ton of bricks. Really awesome movie! BTW to the poster that said it makes up for what was wrong with alexander, check out alexander revisited, totally revamped version of alexander that I think makes up for the theatrical edition in spades.

No. I am never subjecting myself to that movie again. Unless they edited out Angelina Jolie, it will never be an okay movie.

No, don't. That movie pretty much says that the Spartans invented the United States and beat the USSR.

Spoiler Below
And as to why they looked like Orcs, it's a narrative device. The entire movie was told by the one survivor, so the film (and Graphic Novel) took on a larger than life aspect and look to the Persians.
