Day of the Dead was perfection. There are probably tons of other non-Romero zombie flicks out there that are plenty good. But recently, zombie movies have kind of gone downhill. The good zombie flick to bad zombie flick ratio is changing for the worse. I think the only really good recent zombie movie is Shaun of the Dead. Now, let's talk about a few recent movies I've seen. Land of the Dead. I really expected better from Romero, but he did exactly what Lucas did with Star Wars. Instead of sticking to the basic things that made the original movies so great, instead he went all the way with cheap-looking CGI. The blood doesn't look like blood, it looks like tiny red snakes. And that scene with the near-headless zombie is soooooooooo faaaaaaaaaaake... One thing I hated about Land of the Dead is that it wasn't really a zombie movie, it was more of a movie that had zombies. Land of the Dead, Resident Evil. Aside from being absolutely nothing like the game, I found Resident Evil to be somewhat enjoyable. The characters were bland, however, and they didn't go all the way on the gore factor in my opinion. Haven't seen Apocalypse, and don't plan on seeing the upcoming threequel. Resident Evil, video games? House of the Dead. Based off the popular arcade games (or so I presume), these movies are apparently Sci-Fi channel original movies. House of the Dead, Route 666, any other cheesy Sci-Fi zombie movies, are absolute crap. (Actually, I found Route 666 to be somewhat enjoyable.) Sci-Fi channel, Well, that's my opinion. Zombie movies seem to be getting crappier, but hey, so do all films. Every now and then we can expect a diamond in the rocks, like Shaun of the Dead. Well, tell me your thoughts. I'm looking forward to Diary of the Dead, assuming Romero doesn't overdo it with the CGI again... |

Remakes usually suck, but hey, if Wyborn likes it, then why not. |

Do you like violence? Do you really? And would zombies running like Olympic sprinters ruin it for you? |

But violence alone does not make a good movie. Think, the original Dawn of the Dead had shoddy makeup and blood that looked like melted crayon. Yet, it was still great. I don't care if the remake has all the gore in the world, and while that may be a plus, it might not be enough to make it a good movie. Zombies... running? That's ****ing with the Sacred Zombie Rules. |

This guy's rule is that dead people can move like we can't because they don't worry about tearing themselves to pieces. |

They're made to scare the crap out of you, and if they actually do that, then you know you're watching a good movie. |

First thing; All bodies sent to mourges have their tendons cut when they drain the blood, as the limbs would stiffen up. (Making them look like they come back to life when they sit up) Second; The T-virus only revives the recently dead, given they still have a head/brain. They're all heavily decomposed in the graves and given they have almost no blood left in them. Third; They're six feet under dirt AND in a wooden casket. How the hell could they bust through the casket and dig through the dirt? Maybe if this were Return of the Living Dead, I'd understand, seeing as it was one huge joke anyways. |

I may see the third one in theaters for that very reason. So Jill Valentine's going to be in the next movie. Part of her backstory involves the death of Leon Kennedy. Yes, they killed off Leon, RE's resident BAMF, for the sake of the backstory of a character they're going to bastardize and push into the background in favor of Alice anyway. |

And the first Mortal Kombat was awesome. Also if you count Scorpion as a zombie it may have been the best zombie movie ever. |

I found all of the Night of Living Dead (I think it was that one) on YouTube on one clip, but I didn't have the time to really watch more than the first 15 minutes. |
