| Guest | Yea, that really is a great movie. Not seen it for a while now but Id like to see it again. The Green Mile is also extremely good. For some reason I always think of The Green Mile when I think of The Shawshank Redemption and vice versa, weird that. |

| Guest | One of the best movies ever. Both Green Mile and Shawshank had the same director, screenplay writer, and novel writer, and Green Mile was promoted heavily using the VHS popularity of Shawshank. I personally prefer the Shawshank storyline and cast, though. |

They're both based in a jail, and, like Shane said, they're both written by Stephen King and had the same director and screenplay writer. The Green Mile was great too, though I prefer TSR. I haven't seen either of those movies in years. I really need to see them again. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Quote of the week: “A day without denial is a day you have to face.” – Calvin & Hobbes Image of the week: ![]() Pointless fact of the week: All 50 states are listed across the top of the Lincoln Memorial on the back of the $5 bill. | Guest | Good movie, The Green Mile was good as well. Great if you enjoy crying during a movie. Another good prison (escape) drama is Escape from Alcatraz with Clint Eastwood. The story is not quite as deep or dramatic, but it focusses more on the escaping (which I personally like). Still, there are a lot of similarities between the two movies, which is why some think Shawshank ripped off Escape. [ November 23, 2003, 09:44 AM: Message edited by: Virtual Pimp ] |
