And the guy that played Han in Tokyo Drift is in it I guess. Score. |

| JESUS SAID | My local newspaper gave it one star, but I haven't listened to them since they said that Superman Returns deserved Oscars. __________________ ![]() L2R: Alex, Max, Bitch, Ethan, I'm not sure she has a name. |

Not anywhere near Die Hard, maybe not on the level of Die Harder, but better than Die Hard with a Vengance. PG-13 rating is jarring. Should have just included the extra f-bombs and blood to keep it true to the series...somehow I doubt the under 17 crowd they're trying to draw in even remembers Die Hard. There were parts in there where it just felt like it was (sloppily) cut to get the PG-13. A few scenes with Bruce Willis and the "Hi I'm a Mac" guy felt like they were cut up like the movie was on TBS. A few parts with Bruce Willis felt like they were clipping over the standard John McClaine pissed off cursing. If they pop out with an unrated DVD, that'll probably be much better. I'd say 4/5. |

On Monday I purchased, the Die Hard collection to catch me up. I loved the first one. The second one was also good, but not as good. The third one would have been boring if it wasn't for Samuel L. Jackson. However, I did get a $10 coupon with the box set, so whether or not I like the film at least I wouldn't have wasted too much money on it. |

I think it's better than 2 and 3, but not as good as the first one. I didn't even notice the PG rating. I just read about it on IMDb, but I didn't miss the swearwords or something (I probably would've noticed if this one had Sam Jackson). I love how this movie can use over the top action and cheesy one-liners and make it work, whereas so many other movies try the same and fail. |

It was noticeably missing the oneliners (the only ones I noticed was some talk about Santa and the yippee-ki-yay line). I think it was because the third one was adapted from an independent script called "Simon Says." |

The previous two had him in smaller, enclosed places whereas the third one was spread out and didn't have the intense feel. Die Hard 4 managed to capture that feel, and I think they did a pretty good job of grabbing the action feel over multiple states than Die Hard 3 got in NYC. |

| All I Ever Wanted Was To Pick Apart the Day & Put the Pieces Back Together My Way | I'll admit - I never saw any of the Die Hard series before a few weeks ago. Having watched all four within the past few weeks, I can honestly say my opinion is not tampered with any nostalgia whatsoever. Die Hard - The original and best of the series. I'd go as far as to say it's the second greatest action movie ever made (see John Woo's Hard Boiled for number one). Die Hard 2: Die Harder - This movie has some of the most painfully corny dialogue ever written, and the title is a bit on the cheesy side, but other than that, I feel like this is the most underrated movie in the series. Also wins the award for best usage of "Yippee ki-yay, motha****a." Die Hard with a Vengeance - My boss and my best friend both think that this is the best movie in the series, and it's probably technically a better film than Die Hard 2, but it doesn't feel like a Die Hard film. In the case of most series, it's good to see the creators do something different, but the Die Hard formula worked. Live Free or Die Hard - The action is a bit over the top in places, but this is easily the second best of the entire series. I found Justin Long to be the perfect choice for the role of a nerdy computer hacker, perhaps because he is engrained in my memory as being the nerdy kid from Ed. PG-13? Who cares? I'd say it's less about softening the Die Hard movies up for the younger audiences, but more that censors have become a bit more relaxed on the subject of violence. If the overall lack of swearing really bothers you, that's your problem. Last edited by Bomby; 06-30-2007 at 01:44 PM. |

b) Die Harder was never really the official subtitle. It was technically the tagline of the film, yet people thought it was the subtitle so it stuck.

I still really liked it though. It's funny how everyone is associating Justin Long with the Mac commercials, while my main memory of is as the uber-geek in Galaxy Quest.

Oh, and Bruce Willis called people J*** Offs alot, when I think he might have meant F***heads |

Hopefully that DVD is an improvement. I've seen movies (Boondock Saints comes to mind) where the unrated version is completely gratuitous and not better at all, like it's just for the sake of having more blood. I never really minded the over-the-top action: that's what I came for. When I walk into a movie called Die Hard, I'm prepared to turn off a certain amount of my brain and watch some outrageous explosions and fight scenes for a couple hours. I feel like I got my money's worth in that regard. |

It's a good thing that Die Hard is kinda mixing it up by making "America's National Terrorists" home grown. (If you haven't seen it, that means that americans are fighting other americans. No worries, I didn't give anything away, haha!) Kinda makes you rethink the whole "terrorist" geography right? Then again everybody has a breaking point. What do you except to see next on the screen?? |
