Sunshine

I just watched an extended trailer of the film and I am now more excited to watch this.

Observation: I noticed a few parallels in the cast and crew with 28 Days Later. Both movies have the same director (Danny Boyle), Screenwriter (Alex Garland), and star (Cillian Murphy). I even noticed that Rose Byrne (the main female character from 28 Weeks Later) is in the film.

Really looking forward to this, if only because it promises to be one of the more cerebral films of the summer.

Saw it. It was not bad, though a reliance on practical effects (specifically camera tricks) backfired a bit.

I might have been able to suspend my disbelief long enough to enjoy this if I hadn't taken an astronomy class. The plotline is amazingly ridiculous scientifically (our sun wouldn't just "die out," first it has to become a red giant, and it's not going to be in that stage for likely millions of years). I'll wait for DVD... actually, I always wait for DVD, unless it's something I really want to see.

I liked it. Took some unexpected turns. Murphy is always strong...kind of claustrophobic, though, as most spacecraft movies tend to be. Hence the overabundence of sweeping exterior shots, I suppose.
