The Boondock Saints

Just when I think my faith in humanity is about to be restored, I finally see this "classic" that everyone and their mother is so obsessed with the whole way through. Sure, the concept sounds like it would be a fun movie - two brothers think they're getting a message from God telling them to wipe off all the criminals from the face of the Earth. Unfortunately, the movie is so poorly made that nothing can save it.

First of all, Willem Dafoe easily put on one of the worst acting jobs I've ever had the displeasure of seeing in my entire life. Of course, it doesn't help that his character was just plain silly.

The attempts at the action sequences were trying too hard to be original and forgot to be entertaining. Yeah, I get it, Willem Dafoe is trying to figure them out, but stopping the action right when it's about to happen really just ****s the whole flow of the movie up.

Don't even get me started on the dialog. It's obvious Troy Duffy was trying to be Tarantinoesque with this one, but he failed miserably.

The movie was more based on the message, like V for Vendetta, rather than trying to be a Tarantino legend.

There's a big difference between a good movie and a movie with a good message.

Considering that Dragon Dynasty has released maybe two movies in my top 20, that's a pretty bold statement.
