It's about a Liberty ship (one of those lightly-armed cargo ships we used to resupply the British and Soviets) whose escort gets destroyed by the Nazis and has to make it to Murmansk alone, sneaking past U-boats and fighting off the Luftwaffe. Pretty much pure propaganda (released in 1943, after all), but for all that, it's some pretty damn fine filmmaking. __________________ Boo--the only dude bad enough to rescue the president |
