It had some story issues, but Guillermo Del Toro's creatures and visual effects were incredible. A lot of Pan's Labyrinth stuff in there. I also enjoyed Perlman's performance, just like in the last movie; he perfectly captures the character, and he plays the part with such pleasure that it's hard not to love it. Also, I'm debating whether or not Elf Ninja was cooler than Nazi Zombie Ninja from the first film. |

Mostly involving the characters who weren't fighting during fight scenes. While Hellboy & Krauss were fighting the Golden Army, I kept wondering where the heck Liz & Abe were & why they weren't being crushed. And then the princess was just completely immobile while Hellboy fought the prince. ...And here's a real kicker for me: Why didn't the princess challenge for the crown!? As twins, she'd have equal birthright to him, & she knew he wouldn't kill her over it. And yet, I really liked it. ...Now I need to see the first one. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |
